"Today is the release of our new record “Potemkin City Limits” which would be really exciting if everyone didn’t already have it jagged off the internet"-The Rod ...haha.

I bought the album today and I really like it. Definitely not as good as TETA, but awesome none the less.

I will Trust me. When I first TETA I thought it was typical and boring, and now I t's one of my favourites, and the same happened with this new album. give it time grasshopper.

TakeWarning 10-19-2005 03:06 AM

I got it yesterday. It fucking owns.

Drum Phil 10-19-2005 04:37 AM

After a few listens none of the tracks really stand out to me

TakeWarning 10-19-2005 04:46 AM

I reckon Track 1(I forget the name), Track 12 and Die Jugend Maschiert. Not stand out like Purina Hall of Fame or Back To The Motor Leauge did, but still standy-out-ish.

feldwebel 10-19-2005 06:18 AM

bringer of greater things is one of that songs that stands out

otherwise iteration fixed frequencies

Bicuspid 10-19-2005 07:39 AM

Propagandhi gets better with every album. Loved How to Clean Everything, Less Talk was even better, TETA was ****ing amazing, and I think PCL is just as good, quite possibly better than TETA. I was fortunate enough to have to review it for the college radio station (still in training) about 2 weeks ago, and it hasn't left my playlist since.

I'll felate you beyond belief for a small sum of money, however.

Bicuspid 10-19-2005 08:39 AM

You better! I'm poor, and that money could easily go towards Ramen!

lolol

I like HTCE over every other album but I still love them all being HTCE > TETA > PCL very close and LTMR.

carl 10-19-2005 01:09 PM

Here's the review I wrote for it for a SoCal magazine. I could have made it three times as long, but I was told to keep it under 200 words (which I didn't do).

Most people I know think of Propagandhi as that skate-punk band that sort of sounds like NOFX but are more political. How 1993. Since then Propagandhi has gradually left their skate-punk sound behind, maturing into a more hardcore/metal influenced punk sound that resulted in their last record “Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes.” On first listen, “Potemkin City Limits” sounded just a little more mellow and a little less inspired than their last effort, but after reading over some of the best political/issue-based lyrics I have ever read and giving the CD a few spins, this one has grown on me like mold on the cheese I left on the counter last week. Bassist/Vocalist Todd “The Rod” Kowalski has a greater presence on this one and takes the reins on one of my favorites, “Bringer of Greater Things”. Not only does he actually sing on this one instead of his normal screaming, but they’ve thrown in a Hammond Organ, something I never thought I’d hear Propagandhi utilize. The reason I love the song so much is because it shows how, although it’s more subtle this time, Propagandhi have once again tried something new and completely succeeded. “Potemkin City Limits” will be in my CD player until those assholes at Big Wheel ask for it back.
