There's a possibility that it's just an old poster that hasn't been pasted over yet. Late last year I got excited about the possibility of seeing Twin Zero live, before I realised it was advertising a tour from February.
There's a pretty good chance he'll be playing. He has done a show here a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I couldn't go... :( Anyway, the new wu-tang "album" (collaboration between wu-members and indie mc's) looks pretty darn good. Check out some songs on www.okayplayer.com (now hear this, on the right). |
rap on

Allright, Illmatic has grown on me so much. I've had the songs running through my head constantly for about the past week. I have a niec $20 Best Buy gift certificate, and the question that faces me now is: What Nas album should I get next?
|
Stillmatic.
|
Stillmatic isn't really anything compared to Illmatic, what everyones view on Common?? I got Ressurection and was blown away and Be aint too shoddy either. Any artists with that chilled out old school beat style and un-cliched concious aware lyrics (I dont like rappers that sound all rough and forced, the voice has to be chilled and smooth like the beat) that anyone could reccomend me?
|
I got Late Registraiton, and it's pretty good.
|
yeah i just finished listening to The Craft and I have to say that its pretty good. The stand-out tracks so far are "Supreme People", "Side to Side", "Black Diamonds and Pearls" and "Ego Sonic War Drums."
All in all, it's nowhere near the excellence of Blazing Arrow or even Nia, but it's still better than the vast majority of hip-hop out there right now. |

To me, Nia was really great for about 2 weeks, but then it wore off majorly. Now I mainly think it's kind of boring. |
I like Nia better, because it has more of a personal feel to the songs and has more stand-out tracks: "Shallow Days", "Trouble", "Cliff Hanger", "Sleep", "As the World Turns". The production as well is much more ethereal and songs flow nicely into each other.
But hey, to each his own. |
Nia has one song I like, the rest I find ... bad.

DJ quik owns

Kano - Nite Nite is pretty good
|
I just got the new atmosphere cd today and it owns. Not to mention a rather good Rhymesayers label sampler that is good.

The Lost Tapes or It Was Written. I'd suggest the first of those two. And RedMorningLight, check the list I made a few pages ago. Anyway, you can't go wrong with old Rawkus-stuff. :) |

Oh, do tell? What's it called, I hadn't even heard there was a new one coming out. And you guys should all check out Jehst his stuff is awesome, lyrics, flow, production, beats, class act. |
It's called You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having, the cd sampler features Pos, Mf Doom, Greyskul, and others... I also finally got Cage - Hell's Winter I like that pretty well too. I've never bought Aesop Rock - Labor Days before either, and I got that. So i'm in a for some nice listens the next few days.
|
What's Labour Days like? I only have Float.
|
What's Labour Days like? I only have Float.
It's actually the only one I like. If you like other Aesop shit, you should really get that record. |
It's very very awesome. Not a filler track hardly on the whole thing, it's a very good cd to listen to front-to-back. I recommend it if you even REMOTELY liked Float.

I've heard some of his stuff with the Demigodz. And some of his guest spots. He's pretty good, I know he's got a solo album out there, I ought to get that.
