I thought glam was Queen, David Bowie, Elton John, etc.
lol
Glam is Hair Metal with its dick chopped off and extra 4 coats of lipstick.

hethamulburton 07-13-2005 06:14 PM

Elton John could qualify for glam, not metal, but glam.

Jon 07-14-2005 03:02 AM

That's because Elton owns

Learned Round and Round by Ratt on guitar today, i feel so proud. :thumb:

Jon 07-16-2005 07:30 AM

Good song.

You guys heard anything from Collage? Its not bad, its less cheesy than Out Of The Cellar

PrimalScream 07-16-2005 09:37 PM

The Crue was great. Mick wasn't the best guitarist technicly, but his riffs were great and he has a good understanding of theory. He wasn't playing to show off but he made the songs sound great. Skid Row and Bon Jovi are good too. So was White Lion. They were very underrated

Jon 07-17-2005 05:42 AM

Guess who's in with the london glam scene and apparently in a glam band

Has anyone heard a song...I have no idea what its called or who its by...it was sort of modern sounding glam, you know what I mean...and like...it was namedropping all different bands. The only lyric I can remember was something like "Guns N' Roses...Motley Crue...and SKID ROW RULE" or something like that. I also remember it mentioning Kickstart My Heart and Cherry Pie...

Any guesses what it was?

Metallifan85 07-19-2005 02:52 PM

I was driving around town today with Skid Row's Slave to the Grind album blaring, with my windows down of course, and came to a stoplight next to a car doing the exact same thing. We \m/'d each other and drove off. It was cool.

Giaeo 07-19-2005 03:51 PM

I like the Stooges, David Bowie, and New York Dolls a lot.

_HiGhVoLtAgE_ 07-19-2005 05:44 PM

its all garbage

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 05:48 PM
its all garbage
Gonna kill him.

cacophonyz 07-19-2005 06:30 PM

The best glam metal,is newer glam metal...

Backyard Babies,Shotgun Messiah,Zan Clan>Any 80's glam/hair band(excluding only Skid Row)

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 06:57 PM

What about Cinderela

cacophonyz 07-19-2005 07:00 PM
What about Cinderela
Beh Cinderella.I stupidly went to their concert about 2 weeks ago thinking maybe it would be fun. Before that, the lightest concert I'd ever been to was Slough Feg.Man did they suck.I've only heard their famous songs done in the studio, and they are only mediocre, but Kiefer(sp?)'s voice was atrocious live.Quiet Riot ruled though :thumb:

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 07:02 PM

You ever see Ratt?

cacophonyz 07-19-2005 07:07 PM
You ever see Ratt?
No but Stephen Pearcy is gonna be at the W.A.S.P. show I'm goin to in August. Not sure how good Pearcy's gonna be but W.A.S.P. should rule. Here's to hoping Blackie doesn't cancel, not show, throw a tantrum, threaten any engineer's life,and/or suck it up.

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 07:08 PM

W.A.S.P. is good, and I wish you luck on Blackie coming through.

cacophonyz 07-19-2005 07:14 PM

Unfortunately I'm probably gonna need it.

The threaten any engineers life thing is a true story.Earlier during this same tour he apparentally told some sound engineer from where they played in Colorado that he was gonna shoot him because he wasn't getting the right sound.

I just wish Metal Church was gonna be at my show, because I know they will be good.

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 07:15 PM

It sounds like they need more backup bands on that tour in case of something like that.

Metallifan85 07-19-2005 07:18 PM

W.A.S.P. + LA Guns @ The House of Blues in Mrytle Beach on July 27th

In case any of you are in the area.

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 07:19 PM

I can't remember is that in South Carolina or Florida?

cacophonyz 07-19-2005 07:19 PM

Well L.A. Guns is gonna be there too but I could really care less.I mean I will be there when they're on stage because I'm not into going to a concert late and missing opening bands,no matter who they are,but I'm pretty much there for W.A.S.P.I assume that Pearcy is gonna play Ratt songs(unless he's got solo albums I've never heard of) and if he does that shouldn't be too bad, because Ratt is pretty good, though I'm not sure who he's got for a band. But Metal Church would definately add some heaviness and reliability to the card because I have no idea what Pearcy's gonna sing,I don't like L.A. Guns, and Blackie is unpredictable.

cacophonyz 07-19-2005 07:20 PM

Yeah I'm goin August 20th.Gonna be here in the Dallas area.

Backyard Babies,Shotgun Messiah,Zan Clan>Any 80's glam/hair band(excluding only Skid Row)
Shotgun Messiah ain't new. They crapped out in the 90's like everyone else. I want to desperately find me some Zan Clan though.
They crapped out in the 90's like everyone else.
Alot of bands didn't crap out, they just fell out of the mainstream (or is that what you meant? Sorry if it is). Many of the bands tried to change their style, namely Crue and Skid Row, but it didn't really work.

hethamulburton 07-23-2005 11:07 AM

They didn't crap out, the grunge scene kinda took over, and killed the fanbases of the hair bands, the basterds.

Haha yeah. Rock N Roll hasn't really recovered since then. However, things are brewing in London etc. Crue are selling out. A Rock N Roll revival is not far away.
