simply becouse of Natural Sience and Spirit of the radio, Go For Permanent Waves.

I love Different Stages, Rush is so Awsome Live, it kinda.. Amplifys the feelings in their studio songs..

Rush is the most loveable band ever, its pure brilliance, its technical music, mixed with Emotions, Have an such a widespread style of music that realy cant be labeled, but still have this little elements in it so you can say "this is Rush" Played by people that simply Have it!

slowhand 07-12-2005 05:16 PM

The only thing I have of Rush is 2112 and I find that the title track is excellent. Very good. And Geddy Lee's voice isn't that annoying. I also fell in love with his signature bass and plan on buying it in the future.

thunderzstruck 07-12-2005 05:31 PM

A reccoment permant waves or moving pictures as your next purchase. 2112 is a great album though

TerryThorne 07-12-2005 06:27 PM

Rush songs mostly sound pretty "geeky" except for Working Man, was there an era for Rush where they generally made heavier songs? I'd like to look into that because their other songs seem too clean.

Quagmire 222 07-12-2005 06:43 PM

I just got Chronicles. Great CD.

i'm pretty sure vapor trails is on the heavier side, but don't quote me on that

Mambuto_O'Mally 07-12-2005 08:19 PM

Counterparts has some heavier **** on it.

ytsedrummer 07-12-2005 09:33 PM

Rush kicks ***... That sums it all up right there. They are god **** geniuses and hope to see more of their music for many more years to come.

Mambuto_O'Mally 07-12-2005 09:56 PM

Does anybody know if they're working on a new album?

Thunder Fingers 07-13-2005 06:25 AM

ill wish, and if they continue in the style of Vapor Trails, its gonna be bloody great! :D but then rush have the history of slightly changing style about every 2nd style, but still keep the things that make em rush(like geddy's casual octave "Sproing" pops..:p)

Refl 07-13-2005 06:30 AM

Only two albums left to buy before i complete my rush studio collection.:)

I used to have every album, and I kept them in a seperate CD case. But then I left it somewhere on a trip to Hawaii. Now all I have are their live albums. :upset:

This was before iTunes too.

Thunder Fingers 07-13-2005 07:12 AM

well, the live albums is the real soul of rush... they dont get as emotional on the albums...

iwant_taquitos 07-13-2005 03:59 PM

Yes, Rush is amazing live. They sound amazing in their studio recordings, but you havn't heard anything until you've heard their live stuff.

Thunder Fingers 07-13-2005 04:03 PM

*dadadad* If the futures looking dark, where the ones who HAVE to shine!

ATM 07-13-2005 04:03 PM

I finally listened to 2112. Amazing album.

;)

spankyoplank 07-13-2005 04:33 PM

I love Rush and it really suprised me that there is such a huge fanbase here on the forums because, previous to joining this site, the most I'd ever heard about Rush was that my mum loves them and they were on the cover of classic rock one month. You never hear about them in lists of legendery bands or great albums or tracks which I feel is a great injustice as they are true legends.

thunderzstruck 07-13-2005 06:27 PM

yeah, Rush is one of the most underrated bands of this decade

BludgeonySteve 08-16-2005 04:35 PM

Definitly. They weren't quite underatted in the 70s and 80s, but now the majority ignorant youth has forgotten them and pretty much sworn off progressive music completely.

I got A Farewell To Kings a few days ago. Great album that contributed to power metal before it existed.

Cain 08-16-2005 04:38 PM

Any word on a new album from the Rush guys? I always assumed that "Feedback" was going to be a bit of a placeholder instead of an actual full-length release.

Lifeson had better solo on this next one dammit.

EDIT: I have to say, the episode "Rules are Rules" of "Al's Tiki Bar" on the Rush website is HYSTERICAL.

BludgeonySteve 08-16-2005 04:47 PM

Feedback might have just been an attempt to make some money. I dunno, I really hope that they make another soon.

Neurotoxin 08-16-2005 05:19 PM

My Rush discography torrent is stuck at 99.74%. I'm quite angry.

BludgeonySteve 08-16-2005 05:29 PM
if ya like heavy, most the stuff on vapor trails is heavy, especially 1 little victory.

so my friend has the entire collection, including all the unreleased stuff. Being that he studied them enough, when i brought metallica to his attention it wasnt long before he was like....wow everything of metallicas is rip offs off rush, and it sucks...i agree, do yall?
By the way...i dont like metallica now...
No, Rush and metallica sound nothing like eachother. Their guitar solos and their acoustic guitar parts are a little similar, but that's about it.

hallowed_ironmaiden 08-16-2005 06:37 PM

I really hope I get to go to a Rush concert someday. Do you guys think that they will do another tour?
