What's the deal with the whole emo trend? I'd gladly trade this shit for grunge and/or glam metal/rock.

Paranoidd 11-26-2004 03:13 PM

Grunge, Glam, and Emo, they're all distinct movements/cultures and are simply consequences of the state of music at the time they occured in. I see no separation from one to the other.

Otherside 11-26-2004 03:15 PM

So what you're saying is, emo has come along due to the fact the dominant amount of teenagers are depressed because of their hard lives living in one of the richest countries in the world?

Paranoidd 11-26-2004 03:17 PM

Somewhat, I think they are several factors contributing to the emergence of "emo" as a really popular genre. I don't know too much about it, I wasn't really a part of it like I kind of was with grunge, so I can't say for sure.

CreepingBlack 11-26-2004 03:19 PM

Paranoidd, tell me the exact time that the world is going to end.

It's pretty clear you have no understanding of emo whatsoever.
Paranoidd, tell me the exact time that the world is going to end.
Since I believe in things being subjective, the world ends when I die, which will be sometime within the next 10 years.

ATC 11-26-2004 03:22 PM

so the earth is only 20 years old?

Well, duh. Why would I? And I'm not talking about older emo, which "apparently" is good. I havn't even heard it. I'm talking about stuff like TBS and Coheed and Cambria. Also "hardcore" bands like FATA and Underoath, I simply don't understand what anyone sees in any of these bands.

Paranoidd 11-26-2004 03:25 PM
so the earth is only 20 years old?
Well, no. I don't perceive the earth to be 20 years old.

Co and Cam are the only band out of all of those with any true emo styling.

Just go to www.fourfa.com and educate yourself.

MoX_KIll 11-26-2004 03:38 PM

What is the best show on television?

Paranoidd 11-26-2004 03:38 PM
Go to the politic forum, philosophy thread, answer those questions
No.

I'm not too well educated on philosophy and don't care to make an ass of myself to people who are. I lurk here and there to educate myself though. ;)

Currently, Trailer Park Boys (although seasons 1, 2, 3 are superior to later seasons.)

All in the family was the greatest of its time, and Seinfeld ruled the 90's.

Otherside 11-26-2004 03:39 PM

Tobbacco or weed?

Thanksgiving or Christmas?

Giving or getting?

Paranoidd 11-26-2004 03:40 PM

Weed X 100. Thanksgiving.

I have to say I do enjoy giving.

That's correct, Fuel in their earliest inception qualified as a very touched-up emocore.

Paranoidd 11-26-2004 03:55 PM

Three hundred posts.

I win.

That's actually pretty interesting, the whole page that is. I probably won't really be listening to any of those bands, but atleast I can now differentiate between the real and the fake.

Also, congratulations paranoidd.
