Both Dio and Ozzy were integral parts of Sabbath. Both lent a unique style.

However, I am a major supporter of Rob's time over Tim's.

There were loads of pyro effects at Cardiff. And the lifts all over the stage. And the MOTORBIKE :D

The Scorpions played well at Cardiff, both bands were pretty **** tight, tighter than FFaF/Iron Maiden. I also caught one of the [many] drumsticks they threw out during the performance, which was a plus.

We were about 5 rows of people from the front, **** we queued early. One of mi friends left with his leather jacket in small pieces, another spent the night in hospital throwing up and with a light concussion... I blame the painkiller pit. Twas pretty immense though, and I didn't lose my glasses like I did at Maiden!

...Anyway, my fave songs by them are Breakin the Law, Painkiller, Ram It Down, Turbo Lover and Nightcrawler. I don't have any albums but am looking into getting hold of Metalology and Angel of Retribution...

My band are thinking of covering Painkiller. It'll probably end up like Hallowed Be Thy Name, we learned that and then my guitarist decided to drop it from our set because it didn't "feel right"... that said, we do have a female vocalist. Not your ideal metal conditions.

jaco jr 04-04-2005 11:15 AM

we had no pyro at plymouth - but smoke - a load of lifts and the bike we did have - there was a half hour set change after scorpions - we were at the edge for the whole of scorpions - most people left for drinks at the beginning of the set change so we got to the front

Deth 04-04-2005 12:45 PM

When they come to my date, it's an outdoor arena, so hopefully, the pyro will be busted out again.

Tony Martin's stuff is prety good too.

Has anyone ever seen this site? There's some pretty interesting stuff on it. I never knew that they've never performed The Hellion live.

How many of you remember Dave Holland? He was a pretty good drummer, for someone who didn't do double bass. Not that it matters now he's rotting in jail, the bastard.

I think they were only using it for the Birmington show because it was there hometown. Or so he Rob said in a interview.

I saw Iron Maiden + FFaF at Cardiff, the pit there was fun.

When I saw 'Priest in Brum though....there was no real pit, just the old dudes headbanging which was quite funny to watch.

I was under the impression that it was because of all of the fire codes in the indoor arenas. He said he almost had to bribe the fire chief, so it sounds like they would do it if they could.

The Hellion is most of the times their intro to the concert followed of course by Electric Eye... Yes it is really strange that they hadnt played live... They want to impress when Electric Eye kicks in propably...

And yes Holland is a very cool drummer, very nice tempo!

Deth 04-04-2005 02:47 PM

I prefer Scott by a long shot.

kas_ofi 04-04-2005 02:53 PM

^^I think that they arent comparable... they have totally different styles... Both are very good.

Deth 04-04-2005 02:55 PM

Well, they're both drummers, so I'll compare them.

Plus, I just like the double bass.

kas_ofi 04-04-2005 02:57 PM

i like em both!

Deth 04-04-2005 02:58 PM

:D Good to know.

Riva 04-04-2005 05:53 PM

Hehe, nothing like double kick to get the pulse going.

jaco jr 04-05-2005 08:30 AM

why's he in jail?
and i prefer scott travis - he is a legend

Deth 04-05-2005 08:43 AM

I believe it's for child molestation, but I'll probably need someone to back me up on that.

RIP Dime 04-05-2005 08:47 AM

its tought to choose but i think i like Scott better
Judas Priest drummer beats the skins, but not the rap

It's not easy to go from drummer of one of heavy metal's top bands, to drum instructor and finally to convicted attempted rapist. But that is exactly what former Judas Priest drummer Dave Holland has managed to do.

Holland, 55, was found guilty by a London court of attempting to rape a learning-disabled 17-year old. He was also convicted on five counts of indecent assault against the teenager.

Dave Holland played with Judas Priest from 1979 to 1988. He performed on the group's landmark album "Screaming for Vengeance" and his last album with the group was - get this - "Ram it Down."
Ouch.

The attempted rape and assaults took place at Holland's home where the teenager had been taking drum lessons from Holland. The teen had received his parents' permission to stay overnight at his drum instructor's residence on several occasions.

Conclusion: Don't let your kid sleep over anyone's house. Especially at a washed-up drummer's house for "drum lessons."

(I recommend that you don't even let your kid out of your own house or even their own room. I wasn't let out of my room until my eighteenth birthday, and obviously I turned out just fine.)

Sad, isn't it.
Sad, isn't it.
yup
when was he convicted? and how long was he sent down for?

Rrrrrrr 04-06-2005 11:37 PM

I think he was sentenced this January. Eight years.

And yes, I far prefer Scott Travis. His Racer X work is awesome too.

RIP Dime 04-06-2005 11:47 PM

Priest is playing with Queensryche in my neighborhood in June, so anyone in the Hershey PA area they will be here in June (the 16th i believe)

Indeed it is. I think I would prefer Travis as well.

What country is that?

ThrashMaster27 04-07-2005 12:20 AM

Pennsylvania is PA, so it'd be America.

I'm hoping to make it there or the Philadelphia show.
