Im thinking about ordering the In the Flesh DVD. Has anyone seen it?

Riva 10-28-2004 07:44 PM

No. And I think the vocals of Pigs (Three Different Ones) > Dogs > Sheep.

Poofy 666 10-28-2004 07:44 PM

nope

when i first read the lyrics for 'Mother', i couldnt stop thinking of ashcroft <-(not capitalized on purpose)

DeusExMachina 10-28-2004 07:57 PM

I haven't seen the DVD, but the album is awesome, and its Pink Floyd, so its bound to be good.

Riva 10-28-2004 08:00 PM

Can't argue with that logic. :thumb:

DeusExMachina 10-28-2004 08:19 PM

Which early Pink Floyd CD's are worth getting? I've got Piper At The Gates of Dawn, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle, DSOTM, and everything after DSOTM (excluding some of the live things and compilations, like Echoes and A Collection of Great Dance Songs. I do have Pulse and Is There Anybody Out There, though)

Riva 10-28-2004 08:24 PM

Ummagumma. I have it on tape, and I love it.

DeusExMachina 10-28-2004 08:27 PM

Awesome. Thanks.

Kingofdudes 10-28-2004 08:55 PM

Saucer Full of Secrets is good too.

Simple Man 10-28-2004 09:06 PM

Pink Floyd, what a great band....some of my favorites by them are Comfortably Numb and Wish you were here.

Kingofdudes 10-28-2004 09:07 PM

Comfortably Numb is one of my favorite floyd songs. I can listen to it over and over without getting sick of it.

Simple Man 10-28-2004 09:08 PM

I agree, the solo in that is amazing.

Riva 10-28-2004 09:08 PM

Same for me with Time and Us And Them

Kingofdudes 10-28-2004 09:10 PM

I have been listening to Us and Them a lot lately. I love the points in the song when all the vocals and instruments blend together. The only thing is, they can only capture that in the studio, live it is lacking a bit.

Riva 10-28-2004 09:18 PM

Yes, it isn't as good live. Time is better live though, I think.

thelizardkingcc 10-28-2004 09:31 PM

floyd is one of my all time favorite bands, but to be honest, comfortably numb is one of my least favorite of theirs. ive seen the wall movie shrooming, high, and sober for a combined like 50 times probably, and it blows me away, as does the album itself, but that song just doesnt do it for me. animals and the wall are my two favorite albums, with songs like echoes, shine on, atom heart mother suite, anotther brick III, and the "live at pompeii" version of "saucerful of secrets" (gilmour's vocal solo in that is beautiful,) coming up as my favorite songs.

what do you all think of atom heart mother as anal bum (that was a typo at first but i left it haha)

question #2: what do you all think gilmours greatest solo was? Id go with shine on you crazy diamond, and dogs coming in #2, off my head.

What do people think of The Final Cut? listened to it the other day, The Fletcher Memorial Home is a great song

Brew 10-29-2004 08:17 AM

^I've got The Final Cut on cd somewhere but I've never listened to it properly.

I'm going to have to go and find it later, along with Animals.

a_minor_threat 10-29-2004 08:30 AM

Pink Floyd isn't that good to me.

smrkia05 10-29-2004 08:54 AM

pink floyd

I think that Pink Floyd is truely one of the best bands out of the progressive rock era. not only roger waters' mind blowing lyrics but simply composition if you listen closely there are many effect, female vocalists, trumpets, synths, sax, etc. The Wall was the greatest record they produced.

If you are a true Pink Floyd fan you must see the video, Dark Side of the Moon, and The Wall

Even posers have seen them.

What're you talking about? Be a bit more intelligent with your reasoning behind these things. You state as fact that the Wall is their best album, but provide no evidence, and many of the reasons you state Pink Floyd is a great band don't even come into the wall. There is no sax, trumpets, or female vocals on that album (that come to mind at least, correct me if I'm wrong)

I took a risk on Obscured By Clouds, Floyd's second movie soundtrack, but it is really good. Definitely overlooked and really worth having.

DeusExMachina 10-29-2004 09:07 PM

Awesome. Thanks man. I'll probably buy everything eventually, but I wasn't sure what to get next.

Kingofdudes 10-29-2004 09:07 PM

So much Pink Floyd hate in these forums. :upset:

DeusExMachina 10-29-2004 09:11 PM

Really? I haven't come across too much, but thats weak. Pink Floyd is awesome.

Hopefully I will just have it all one day.

Kingofdudes 10-29-2004 09:13 PM

That "Respected Bands you dont like thread", everyone is saying Pink Floyd.

Bah to them

Berty 10-29-2004 09:18 PM

So if I only have Wish You Were Here, which album should I get next?

Kingofdudes 10-29-2004 09:20 PM

Dark Side of the Moon
Animals
The Wall

All are good albums
