Nope, the fact that you think Atreyu are screamo shows you don't know your music. Not your post count.
Well i dunno, i also thought Atryu was screamo, i'll read the post though, who else would you consider screamo? i think a good example would be poison the well, tell me if im wrong. |
Saetia (Get "One Dying Wish" and "An Open Letter", if possible)
Cowboys Become Folk Heroes Kite Flying Society (I recommend "This Picture Was my Heart", but it's all good) Jerome's Dream
Once again, haha, arent cowboys become folk heros a little more grindcore than they would be screamo? |
No, Poison the Well are not screamo.
See, here's the deal. When Poison the Well, From Autumn to Ashes, Atreyu, A Static Lullaby, Alexisonfire, Silverstein, and all those kind of bands started getting popular a couple of years ago, the mainstream took notice and for some reason or another started calling it screamo, when in fact screamo is a completely different genre characterized by music that is a bit on the chaotic side but is just teeming with emotion. Check out "An Open Letter" by Saetia or "In The Nervous Light of Sunday" by Circle Takes the Square for a perfect example of what screamo really is. Or, if you don't have a file sharing program, just download a couple of these songs: www.hxcmp3.com/circle_takes_the_square |
Once again, haha, arent cowboys become folk heros a little more grindcore than they would be screamo?
Well, some screamo is very grind influenced, like Cowboys..., Pg. 99, and Circle Takes the Square. What separates it from grind though is that the music has much more depth, the guitarwork is more on the artsy side, and most importantly: the atmosphere of pure emotion that it gives off. |
yea, ive heard a circle takes a square, and i really like them and also consider them screamo, what the hell would u call poison the well?
|
Poison the Well's first two full-lengths = Emocore
You Come Before You = Very experimental. I'm honestly not sure how to label it. It mixes metal and emocore with a radiohead-esque vibe. I don't think you can slap any one label on it. |
yea, i do agree that you come before you was very experimental and exotic, i loved it, but the opposite of december was straight up 24/7 screaming (which i love) and thats probably the reason it lead people like me to call it screamo...thanks a lot man, im set straight now, i wasnt sure about this stuff, im more of a death head, black metal guy myself, thats what i play at least, but this helps
Buddy will just say pageninetynine and Kaospilot but I'll say Hot Cross and Love Like...Electrocution.
HEY I didn't say Pg. 99 OR Kaospilot, thank you very much. And I've recommended LLE multiple times in the past. |

check out this band Bars. http://www.thebarsrock.com/
the members in were previous bands such as give up the ghost, throwdown, death by stereo, suicide file, and the red chord. they just signed to equal vision, they're pretty good. |

did they play cuntsman for you guys? |
Better question, did they play Bunnies?
|
Yes, and yes. Cutsman is overrated, they have much better songs, IMO.
|
Better question, did they play Bunnies?
nooooo, they ask the crowd if they want them to play another song, and if they say yeah they play cuntsman, instead of cutsman and instead of saying cut they say cunt, they really do this, its funny |
they're playing here september 6th. i'll go see them if i can.
|
this thread is lame, and dillinger is far from grind.
|
this thread is lame, and dillinger is far from grind.
buahaha i disagree |
Eh, Dillinger is like grindcore/hardcore I'd say.
By the way, I thought Poison the Well is metalcore? And also, would The Locust partially fall under "Nintendocore" because they use keys? |
Oh. Oops. What about poison the well, are they metalcore?
I also listened to this pretty cool band called Canderia, anyone heard of them? |
