When you bought it, was it an instant classic, or a grower?

EDIT: To OrbDragon
its a grower, or it was to me, plus after hearing some of it live then hearing it again, it instantly put it way up there for me, give it time, you will love it...

zeuxia 06-10-2004 04:09 AM

Lately I've really been into the Pogues, Guided by Voices, The Format and Modest Mouse. Definitely check out the Format if you get a chance.. they're new on the scene.

I love Good News For People Who Love Bad News. It's probably my favorite album.

There's a local band from northwest IN/IL called Nomad Planets. They have a Tom Petty/Neil Young sound. They're awesome.

I've been listening to some of The Smiths' stuff too. Some of my favorites are "Panic", "Pretty Girls Make Graves", "How Soon Is Now?".

Tangy zizzle 06-11-2004 02:22 AM

I just saw a PJ Harvey music video... I liked it, definately checking them out sometime soon. Another awesome band/artist, Sondre Lerche. SO good, I think I'll make a thread in a bit.

yeah it grew on me... one of my favorites now too. it's now my favorite modest mouse album.

it's taken over prefuse 73's "uprock studies and vocal narratives" as the cd that i listen to while playing poker, so i've listened to it through a ton of times lately, and it's just not getting old. i love it.

Anyway, I've been digging "Vespetine" by Bjork. I would describe it as "Kid A" by Radiohead except with an amazing female vocalist.

br3ad_man 06-15-2004 02:47 AM

Oh, everyone read that url, it is proof of the claim that Tangy zizzle just made
