Just wanting to know what pedals you guys use as im plannin on saving for some others. What are the good points of the ones you use and why did you choose them?

Sonor 400 Double pedal (was cheap and i knew sonor were good and i needed a quick replacement for my old broke one)
Pearl RH2000 remote eliminator hi-hats (heard great things about them and nowhere here sells the DW version. I like to play my hats on the right and dont like using x-hats so bought this. Its smooth as hell)

Plan on changin my double for a DW5002
Adding either a sonor giant step twin effect for a cowbell/jam block
A 5000 special cocktail drum pedal
And a second RH2000 for some crash/china trash hats :)

NB: Pedals includes hi-hats

I changed out my DW 4000's for a Big Dog Pro's, because they are alot smoother and sturdier.

Arent the big dogs just IC's in disguise?

I used to have a IC double but wasn't impressed with it, so I sold it for more than I bought it

I use a DW 5000 single now though I'll probably buy a double somewhere along the line.

I'm still using my mapex stock hi hat stand but it's given me no issues so I'm content with it.

i use a pair of Tama IC jr pedals ~ i see no reason to replace them.

10-31-2005, 01:52 PM
...i have a Dixon DBP (it was cheap) i cant remember the model of hand, and i dont use the slave pedal but it isnt to bad and put it this way, i prefer it to IC's for some reason.
i want a DW5000 though whihc hopefully will be my next investment

10-31-2005, 01:52 PM
I have a pulse double bass... :( I think my next purchase is going to be an Iron Cobra, I've heard excellent things about it and have tried one myself and it is soooo nice. I've also been looking at the DW pedals though... in any case I can't really spend much money right now :p. I also have an eliminator hi-hat stand, and i love it! The rotating legs are great too, just slides right in next to my double pedal so nicely.

Whats the difference between IC and IC jnr?

Didnt really like the IC's i tryed

10-31-2005, 01:57 PM
Mapex P750 & P950 i'm gona be getting these Trick Pro 1 – V when they come out next year!

Whats the difference between IC and IC jnr?

the IC junior is just the "standard" double pedal of Tama, like the singel pedals you get with Tama drums, but a double pedal.
It's not as good as the IC, but they're deffinetly not bad. I have them, and I like them.
Also the juniors are cheaper, I paid mine 280 and I think the IC are around 340, it depends

Firstly, I have the Pearl Powershifter P122TW double bass pedals, (same as PostmanPie on here!!) because they were cheap and have a very similar feel to the advanced pearl, Eliminator pedals. So that was a buy. Next was the H-1000 hi hat stand, simply following in the tradition pearl stands to match. was 20 cheaper than the Eliminator hi hat stand so I went ahead with the purchase.

i tryed the H-1000 and H1000K and they were pretty nice

10-31-2005, 02:40 PM
Yeah they are nice, not as nice as your remote eliminator stand though  Gotta get one of those one day.. (All I need now is some decent hats to complement the stand)

Im in love with that baby. My HHX power hats will be going on there when i get em :D

Snap! I must achieve to have 2 hi-hats. Who was it who just purchased on of them?

10-31-2005, 02:51 PM
i have an elim. single. its super nice. the reason i got that one becuase its so adjustable, and you can buy the slave later becuase i didnt have enough money at the moment.

10-31-2005, 02:51 PM
Pearl P120 single pedal, got it with my kit
Tama HP200TW twinpedal.

Pretty happy with it, but maybe I will buy the Peark P-1002 dunno yet...

10-31-2005, 03:04 PM
The FedEx guys have my Pearl Eliminator double pedal now, I'll hopefully get it next week :D
(in case you were wondering: Intl. shipping, that why it takes so long :( )

Sounds like fun. Pics when it arrives

10-31-2005, 03:08 PM
Well a new snare I bought is in the hands at birmingham drum center as we speak! Btw I was thinking about the HHX Evolution hats, snap!!

10-31-2005, 03:20 PM
I have DW9000, i went for them as they where £10 more then the DW5000, but now i regret not getting the 5000 now.

And i have the DW9500 hat stand. I got that as again it was cheap, and you can change the 'feel' of the pedal.

10-31-2005, 03:23 PM
I have me a DW5002... and I LOVES it! I often just take the left pedal to band practises, and the thing does split into two singles very nicely. It's super sturdy, really adjustable and just all round sexy.
Plus.... it's RED!

Btw, I did my grade 6 on a pearl eliminator hi-hat stand.... smooth as silk. For the gig I played (see thread), I used some guy's Pearl Eliminator double pedal and hat stand. They looked like they had seen some wear, but they still played great, so at least you know these will last.

10-31-2005, 03:30 PM
I have Yamaha Flying Dragons.
Because I was going to buy farty PDP's, but the Yamaha's were on sale for $50 more and my mom lent me the cash. I didn't actually play them 'fore I got them, but it was a lucky choice.

10-31-2005, 03:41 PM
Went from a DW 5002ad3/5500td bass/hi-hat pedal combo to a 9002/9500 combo earlier this year

10-31-2005, 03:57 PM
Pearl Eliminator all around!

Pearl B2002
Pearl H2000

and probably a RH-2000 in the soon to come future.....

I stay away from DW cuz they too pricey for nothing incredible! (except the smoothness) :thumb:

I love Pearl :naughty:

Drum Phil
10-31-2005, 03:58 PM
I gotta learn to use hi-hat pedals all over cause of the sluggish slowness of my old stand and the ultimate smoothness of the RH2000 :( I cant stay mad at it though. Its so amazing

10-31-2005, 04:30 PM
A 5000 special cocktail drum pedal

thats a cool pedal right there

Drum Phil
10-31-2005, 04:32 PM
Simple way to give me new sounds :)

10-31-2005, 04:36 PM
Yeah i liked it when i played it. wouldnt get one coz i would want to sit it on the right of my bass and thats where my aux hat pedal is

10-31-2005, 04:38 PM
I would get it so I can make a cocktail kit for busking.

10-31-2005, 05:51 PM

Eliminiators....Blue Cam....Want to convert to strap

11-01-2005, 10:16 AM
Pair O' IC flexiglides. Not sure of model number, but use a Gibraltar single post hat stand when both kicks are setup. Otherwise the Tama stand that came with my Rockstars - "Lever Glide". Li'l loose after 10+ years, but still has great action.

11-01-2005, 10:34 AM
got: gibraltar single, the cheap one, cant remember name
getting: big dog pro double

11-01-2005, 10:44 AM

Have a Pearl P-120P, but for the moment I'm using a Tama HP-10 (I think¿¿),
cuz it's lighter and I like the feel of it better. + it's better for heel-toe.

I'm on the search for a DP, but I can't descide which to get.

I have a pearl elim single (red cam mostly, still chosing my favourite) Strap driven. peace 2 legged rotating hi hat stand and a peace single bass pedal (peace came with kit) the other bass pedal is attached to and 8" Kenny aronoff cowbell :)

11-01-2005, 11:25 AM
I'm still using the Iron Cobra Jr. single pedal that came with my Tama set. It's a year old this month and still works perfectly fine, though a few dabs of motor oil probably won't hurt it.

11-02-2005, 06:39 AM
Has anyone here ever done the chain to strap conversion? If so where do you get the conversion parts?

Drum Phil
11-02-2005, 06:54 AM
For what pedal? I assume you could just order the parts from the company that made the pedal

11-02-2005, 09:20 AM

Elims for both.

11-02-2005, 12:18 PM
From The PEARL Forum:

You can convert your Eliminators from chain to strap - all you need to do is go to your local Pearl dealer and purchase the BCA-1 belt kit. Then it's just a case of undoing a couple of bolts, switch the chains for straps and do em back up again - coulnd't be simpler!!!

11-02-2005, 02:53 PM
Well my name pretty much explains what I use. But yea I use a Tama Iron Cobra, and its a double bass pedal. But Im thinkin of just buyin another really cheap dbl pedal (like a pulse) because my kit is at my dads which is really far away and I hate having to pack up and bring my pedal back and forth for practice with my band, then practice alone at my dads on the weekends.
