Alright, well-it's time for the first round of the new slap comp. The attachment for the bracket is in the stickied thread, so you can see how it will be layed out.

First up, we have Nisakss and Rik!

Holy jesus Rik. That was freakin awesome.

I was actually really enjoying Nisakss' , and I wasn't even going to listen to rik's... but holy jesus..

No contest, Rik wins.

Although Rik, it was somewhat repetitive. IMO, what makes a solo slap piece great is the tasteful use of fills. Keep that in mind, but good job none the less.

Im voting for Rik. Good job to the both of you though.

Enims Review time (yes, i will be doing these for all of the rounds)

Nisakss: The riff is solid, with some groove, but it is only the same few notes, through the begining. Then, after the chagne, it gets a little better. Would sound great with some drums. The ending earned you some points though, i liked it. TOTAL: 5/8

Rik: Right off the bat, im impressed. Solid groove, nice use of ghost notes, and hammerons it sounds like. Around 30 secs in, the groove changes, and i like it. The thrown chord/ double stop before the DT is good, as is the Double Thumbing itself. Then, you return to the first riff, till the end. The outro itself soudns good, but then dies abrubtly at what soudns like midphrase. Just a few more notes, and it would have been better. TOTAL: 6.5/8

Am i being a little harsh?

^ I'd say you are.. but just abit,

bump Niskass up to a 6 , and Rik up to a 7-7.5

btw, what do you guys think of my slap tone? I showed this piece to a friend of mine (my guitar player) and he said that I've got the worst tone...

And I actually quite enjoy my tone.....
