The Tea Party was formed in 1990 after a marathon jam at session at the Cherry Beach RehearsalStudios. Their music has beendescribed ashardrock with influences from blues, progressive rock,Indian and Middle Eastern music. Well known inCanada,Australia and Germany, the bandisgenerally unknown in mainstream American music.In 2005, the group disbanded due to creativedifferences, with Jeff Martin abruptlyannouncing that he would be moving to Scotland to pursue asolo career. Stuart Chatwood later announced thathe and Jeff Burrows were underthe impression thatthe band was merely taking an extended break.
