Springbok Nude Girls were part of the alternative rock explosion in the early to mid 90's in South Africa. Hailing from Cape Town, they played
their first gig in the university town of Stellenbosch in 1994, and became student favourites. Covering a wide range of musical styles with an
alternative base, they were distinctive for their signature trumpet sound mixed with high energy guitar rock. After scoring a wider release for the
1999 album Surpass the Powers, they disbanded in 2001. The band reformed in 2006, and on a relaxed schedule, they still release music and
tour sporadically.
