The Shell Corporation

"We shall continue to deliver best value to our stakeholders by providing superior music to our customers, maintaining our high financial performance and improving our standing as a good corporate citizen of the world by aligning our direction in long-term sustainable fashion." "We shall continue to deliver best value to our stakeholders by providing superior music to our customers, maintaining our high financial performance and improving our standing as a good corporate citizen of the world by aligning our direction in long-term sustainable fashion." With the writing on the wall barely dry, Curtiss Lopez (ex-Wilhelm Scream) and Jan Drees (ex-Fixtures, 5 Cent Deposit) started work on The Shell Corporation as their previous band was breaking up. Within a week of the ultimate demise of Majority Lost, the Shell Corporation had recorded three songs for their debut 7" (release June 2011), with plans to record another 10 to round out their first full-length "Force Majeure", due out at the end of August 2011. Determined to take advantage of the enthusiasm generated by some early demos and acoustic tracks recorded by Jan, they launched themselves headlong into the new project with a ferocity and drive they thought they had been beaten out of them. The songs poured out of them and before they knew it they had written enough to get the lineup together. Recruiting Sean Moore of Le Meu le Purr, (Blackbird Music) to play bass, they hooked up with longtime friend and Hoobastank drummer Chris Hesse to produce and engineer their first 7" entitled "Bread & Circuses" (scheduled release in mid July 2011). Not long after, Jake Margolis (Madcap, the Briggs, Time Again) joined the band as the full-time drummer. The Shell Corporation will be touring the West Coast in August 2011 and Europe in September 2011 supporting the UK's Failsafe. « hide
