Review Summary: A great Technical album with a great mix of style.

Death Metal comes from all over the globe, Germany, Norway, Sweden, America even South America. I have never heard of a Spanish Death Metal band until I listened to Hybrid. I have to admit, this band is insane! They formed in 2004 and recorded their fist and only (so far) album "The 8th Plague" on August 8th, 2008. The album is very hard to find, but I was able to find it and take a listen. I think a listen is worth your time.

Hybrid is made up of two guitars, bass, drums and vocals (the usual for a Death Metal band of course). The best thing about this band is their style. They mix Death Metal, Grindcore and other very technical riffs all on one album. The sound of it is a technical metal fan's dreams and on top of that, their style is for any metal fan to enjoy. Hard to tell you a band today that can create their own sound and keep it going through a whole album.

The album comes in four different parts on the set list, I. Ovum: Alienation, II. Larva: Narcotization, III. Chrysallis: Transformation and IV. Imago: Obliteration. Each section holds either one, two or three songs listed under them. This album brings pure chaos to its listener, guitar riffs are very heavy and fast with drums that make your heart beat faster and faster. The vocals on this album give the newer Metal sound, of much more screams then low growls. Pig squeels are also used, but not every minute like most Deathcore bands today use. They may not live up to great bands like Death, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under and so on but, they give new bands a huge kick in the ass.

I think I've stated enough about the album being a great listen but, I don't want to compare it to classic albums. Here, are some pros and cons. The style of this album is a great mix of music. They are able to mix Technical Death Metal and Grindcore with extreme Avant garde metal and keep it down very well. Every song is at a reasonable length, there are no 50 second songs to fill a space on the album. Songs are of great quality and good recording. Some cons are, Death Metal fans may not like the vocals due to more screams and pig squeels to low growls. It is very technical but they do not use a great amount of solos, mainly fast riffs, and songs are hard to find over a electronica band with the same name.

They may not be liked by everyone but, no band is perfect. I recommend any Technical Metal fan to take a listen and tell me what they think!

Might not be the greatest but, no one else was going to cover it.

It's a pretty sick album for really any metal fan.

Good overall review, just a few things though.

Hybrid makes up two guitars, bass, drums and vocals (the usual for a Death Metal band of course).

Fix that sentence, it's a fragment, perhaps "Hybrid is made up of...".

The best thing about this band is their style, they mix Death Metal, Grindcore and some Mathcore (whatever you want to call it), all on one album.

Break that up into two sentences or make it flow better as one full sentence.

Pretty much the things you should focus on avoiding are run-on sentences and comma placement (many times those two things combined make up the problem).

Fix those up and you have my pos. Also, album sounds pretty cool, i'll have to check it out.

Good job on fixing those few things up, the overall flow is much better than before. Just continue reading other reviews and work on flow and structure, and you'll have things down pretty straight.

You get my pos. Looking into this band now actually.
