Ever wondered what late-80's Ministry would sound like if they took cues from hardcore punk and Ian McKaye fronted the band? Probably not, but for those of you who did, Pailhead provides the answer. Trait was their only release, in 1988 as an EP, and served not only to give some insight into later collaborations Ministry would spearhead, but to give an interesting take on industrial rock combined with the fervor of hardcore punk. McKaye does excellent, unsurprisingly, and the riffs laid down by Jourgensen are powerful in their simplicity and almost minimalistic nature. Truly a shame that more people don't know about this relatively unlikely collaboration.
