A vibrant record that blends techno, pop, IDM, and other genres nicely. Owens is a gorgeous singer and fabulous producer. A record that flows so well. P.s. the vinyl bonus track is great.

Overall a bit more dynamic than her debut LP, Inner Songs still mostly operates on the atmospheric side of techno with a dash of house and pop sensibilities. The result is an album that manages to nicely fuse groovy warmth and electronic coldness, but still struggles to be as impacting when slowing down the tempo.

This album fucks: The first four tracks provide a solid sample of the breadth and depth of her considerable talents. The music here is sexy, dark, joyful, and full of life - she - and her beats - sing with skill and emotion.

Kelly Lee Owens steps up to a more mature, straightforward record. Her subtle hazy brand of production now beautifully on display. However, I can't quite yet place her vocal performances. They can elevate a track, they can ruin it, they can do both at once. That remains the crux of my problem with her music, but all the music around that remains a shining specimen.
