The Misfits " Earth A.D.

The Misfits " a classic punk rock band started in April of 1977 in the town of Lodi, New Jersey. Singer of the band, Glenn Danzig, and bass player of the band, Jerry Only, were the men that started The Misfits. Jerry"s little brother, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein also get the band started with his guitar playing. They got the name of The Misfits from Marylin Monroe"s last movie which, of course, was called The Misfits. The great band still exists today, only with a little bit different lineup than what it once was. But that was much later on than the album known as Earth A.D.

Earth A.D. is the third Misfits release, following Walk Among Us (another great album) and Evilive. This album was released on Caroline Records and produced by The Misfits and Spot.

The Misfits Are/Were:
Glenn Danzig " Vocals
Jerry Only " Bass
Doyle " Guitar
Robo " Drums

This album is straight forward punk, with a horror feel thrown into it, since it mainly talks about things that would be coming straight out of hell. The songs are fast and vicious, but also very well put together. Some start with horrifying sounds like "Earth A.D.", "Death Comes Ripping", and "Bloodfeast". This definitely helps give off the feel of how the song is going to be spooky. All of the songs have very fast drumming which helps to add to the punk part. Very solid stuff that keeps you in tune with the song. The part in the beginning and end of "Death Comes Ripping" is great, a little drum fill that sounds cool. Glenn"s voice is amazing on this album, with a sort of fast angry howl and a scream at times. He has a one of a kind voice. The part on "Mommy, Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight" when he says "Mommy, Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight?!" in the middle of the song when all of the instruments stop is a great part in the album. The guitar work is done very well and gets you pumped up. Very fast and distorted, and also flawless. The bass work is also done very well, backing everything up persistently. The background vocals which appear are pretty much every song really add to the songs, and they serve their purpose well. The "whoa""s on "Death Comes Ripping" are great. A great addition to the already great vocals of each song.

The Misfits Earth A.D. is a definite classic for being a great, catchy punk album. There are no flaws on it at all; great guitar, vocals, bass, and drums. Many people say that punk music gets very boring very fast because of the basic drumming and guitar work with power chords. That is not the case with Earth A.D. with its spooky lyrics and creative guitar riffs with the fast drumming underneath it. Danzig"s voice never gets old, even though it may take a few listens to get used to. But once you are used to it, you will think it is absolutely amazing.

This album is well loved by fans of The Misfits, especially those who like their older stuff. I would recommend getting this if you are into punk music, mainly older and faster. Fans of Black Flag, old AFI, and other older hardcore punk bands would like this album. If you want to try downloading a few songs first, then I would suggest downloading "Death Comes Ripping", "Green Hell", and "Bloodfeast". Truly a must have.

Yeah
The only problem would be that they probably would write bad music if they hated each other (i assume thats why they split up)
oh and time travels impossible.

I got something to say, I killed your baby today, it doesn't matter much to me as long as it's dead. Sweet lovely day.

Taken from Last Caress. Misfits forever.

I got something to say, I raped your mother today, and it doesn't matter much to me as long as she's spread.
