I've been a fan of Sadistik's brand of chill, atmospheric hip-hop since The Balancing Act, but it wasn't until Altars that a full album of his really grabbed me. I loved the dark, moody sounds that came from the album, and how he jumped fully into the twisted atmospheres that were only hinted at before. Haunted Gardens drops a lot of the dark musical shades, but otherwise picks up where Altars left off. It's still a super chill hip hop release that is simply buried in atmosphere, over which Sadistik delivers his unique vocal take on the genre with his acrobatic word play.

Very well rapped and emotionally resonate with some beautiful instrumentals. I've probably listened to this album more than anything else this year.

This album is a nice experience, because although the atmosphere is quite dark and sad as we often find in this style, sadistik has a particular way of making it feel and live differently. On the other hand, despite the' short format, although the album keeps a super homogeneity, we sometimes have the impression that it repeats itself

This is great. Lyrically, Cody is at the top of his game. The instrumentals are perfectly somber and chilling, feeling very in line with his first 2 albums. My only real complaint is that I wish his delivery was a bit more dynamic. Not a big complaint since the more laid back delivery does fit the tone of the album very well. This continues to grow on me and I could easily see me raising this to a 4.5 soon.

I've been following his music for years. I constantly push my expectations higher for him each time and he has never let me down. I have learned to appreciate certain albums for what they are instead of what i want them to be. This album on the other hand was exactly what i wanted it to be and so much more. The overall backdrop the instrumentation/vocals provide is completely in line with what he does vocally on the album. I think this is his Magnum Opus right here. Like an all grown up version of flowers for my father. His writing is sharper than ever and his song structure is unpredictable but is perfectly suited to what this album was intended for. I dont feel he held anything back here at all. Incredible album from an ever evolving artist who i cannot get enough of

I kinda expected more out of Cody than meandering apathy. It's certainly more inline with his earlier material than the absurdity that was 'Altars' but you can clearly tell he's holding back, constantly.
