Review Summary: CODE ORANGE ARE THE TOUGHEST BAND IN HXC

THIS NEW CODE ORANGE EP? THIS RIGHT HERE? IT KICKS ASS. WELL OF COURSE IT DOES. ITS CODE ORANGE! CODE ORANGE ARE THE TOUGHEST, HEAVIEST BAND IN HARDCORE. ANYONE WHO CALLS THEM "METALCORE" IS A POSER AND DOESN'T UNDERSTAND METALCORE IS SISSY HOT TOPIC CRAP WITH CLEAN CHORUSES. CODE ORANGE ARE TRUE HARDCORE JUST LIKE KNOCKED LOOSE AND NAILS. WARNING: THIS EP IS SO HARD AND TOUGH IT MAY MAKE HOT TOPIC KIDDIES PEE THEIR PANTS IN TERROR. 3 KNIVES IS FAST AND BRUTAL AND THE BREAKDOWN MAKES ME WANNA CROWDKILL A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL. THE HUNT HAS COREY TAYLOR FROM SLIPKNOT, AND IM SURE POSERS WILL ACCUSE THEM OF SELLING OUT FOR THIS, BUT ITS STILL BRUTAL AND HARDCORE. THE HURT WILL GO ON IS SLIGHTLY LESS BRUTAL BUT STILL AWESOME AND TOTALLY HARDCORE BUT LIKE INDUSTRIAL TOO!! CODE ORANGE ARE ACTUALLY WILLING TO BE LIKE EXPERIMENTAL AND STUFF UNLIKE THOSE DIME A DOZEN DEATHCORE ACTS. NO OTHER BAND IN HXC IS ON THEIR LEVEL. NONE. OVERALL? BEST EP OF THE YEAR HANDS DOWN. CODE ORANGE IS FOREVER!!!!!

it's unironically better than the other review, so it gets a pos just for that tasty irony.

I have the feeling that (given your bump) you were inspired by those poorly written reviews of Repentless by Slayer to make this thing.

Either that or this band's fanbase is crazy beyond words. Don't know anything about this band tbh.

This review tries as hard as the album and fails just as badly.

I'd be curious to hear from people who are rating this an average score. What is it about this that isn't gelling 100% for y'all?

Personally, the two original songs on this blew me away. Code Orange are doing some truly unique things in the genre. This is the first time the questionably glitchy elements and abrupt cuts have worked.

I've been listening to the new Vein a lot actually. There's obviously a lot of similarities between the two bands. It's almost to the point where Vein is doing a pretty on point Code Orange impression. Code Orange are definitely pushing the envelope more with how crazily they incorporate their in your face industrial pieces.

I find it even more interesting now that Vein is the cool hot new band when being compared to Code Orange. I hear a ton of Nu-Metal influences in their sound which often get's looked down upon. Either way I hear very little discrepancy in quality between the two bands. They both are executing this style of music at a high standard to me.

Again I'm interested in hearing WHY this is sub-par. As exemplified wonderfully by the two posters below you, very few people seem to have anything of actual substance to say around here.

The band members of Code Orange have demonstrated that they are arrogant and disrespectful. Combine that with the typical Sputnik elitism and you'll see why most people around here aren't into them. I rather like Code Orange musically, but nothing of theirs has ever felt 'realized' enough to blow me away.

Vein is a little less innovative, but their vision is a hell of a lot more cohesive. Vein have also completely succeeded in unifying the disparate elements of their sound whereas since Code Orange try for a much larger sound pallet it doesn't always work.
