I'm actually listening to the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza right now and I rarely listen to grind. The biggest challenge for grind bands is what to name their songs, I'd definitely run out of ideas.

Number three, it's just screamo or emo, which ever you prefer.

Number four, don't review bands you know nothing about just because they have a member in relation to Hot Cross.

Never say violent screamo again. The genre is much too small to have any adjective thrown in front of it.

Neil Perry is good, I feel sorry that you have Panic! At the Disco listed as your favorite band.

Otherwise at least you got the band reviewed.

All you H/E regulars f[font=verdana]uck[/font] off, you make such a big deal about nothing and you have to be elite about everything. Everytime I review something hardcore/emo, I always get jumped on and I get corrected during everything I say. Who the hell cares if he said "violence" screamo? He's just describing how he feels about it. And you don't need to know everything about a band to review it, that's just silly. Oh and Iluvatar, I liked the review, good job.

He isn't saying how he feels, he's using a mislabeled term scenesters use too seem like they are musically diverse when they really don't apperciate the genre of emo for what it is, a careful balance of chaos and beauty.

the bottom line is that you shouldn't be reviewing an album when you have extremely limited knowledge of the genre and band. you don't have to be an expert, but you shouldn't be a newcomer. also you said:

"Number 5, I'm very sorry you actually like Neil Perry."

and

"And I said Neil Perry is good"

you said you feel sorry for him because he likes them, which obvously means you think they are not so good. also, i didn't say you need to research the band's history, i said you should have knowledge of the genre, which you obviously don't beyond the most well knows of bands. you can like whatever parts you want, i never said anything about that. stop making things up so you can look smarter.

1. You'd have to be deaf not to hear any grind influence in this. Are the song lengths and chaotic skinwork not enough to justify a comparison to grind? Obviously there's a gap between the two, but hey, it's not that wide.
2.) Powerviolence is a genre, which is probably where the term he used spawned from. Besides, who are you to appoint this band a genre? They never called themselves anything.
3.) You're using screamo and emo as catchalls, both of which are abused to no end. These bands never really defined their sound with a genre, aside the slightly more specific catchall, Post Hardcore. Post-Emo Grind or Hardcore may apply, though...
4.) Oh, I forgot you could only write subjective reviews if you liked the band and knew each band member's personal reasons for forming the group. Must I weigh their genitals before informing others about this act? Silly me.
5.) "Omg, his opion varies from mine! Now that I recognize the band's flaws, I'll never be able to enjoy this record again!"

short song lengths has been in punk/hardcore punk way before grind.
