Ah I see your issue with this album, Titan. I wish it was Anderson too, but Machine Messiah, Does it Really Happen, Lens and Tempus Fugit are all strong. Plus you can get over the vox over time. They're kind of similar.

Listening to the funky Tempus Fugit atm, and song could be a Police one, vocals included :D

Cans is just shiiiiiit and it follows up fuxkin Roundabout like what a mood killer
plus the other ludes are far better (considering one of them is top 3/4 on this album)

Back on Drama, I dig Trevor but they got fucked over hard during the tour since he could hardly sing the oldies
plus Downes is kind of average as far as Yes keyboardists go

i agree! but logistically, the integrity has been compromised.....great album either way

this has soul
can't say that about Tormato
this album is what the band needed to make, but were a couple years early/late to the party
if this came out in 77, hell even in 83, it'd be better recieved.

I think getting someone else to produce the album would've done it a lot better, plus if they just cut a lot of the shit that was on the album (Circus, Arriving UFO). It has some incredible songs but man I would've been cool with something like Release, Release or Silent Wings being the "biggie" of that album because there's so many ideas that just go unrealized on the album.
Should add it's a good thing the 79 sessions went nowhere because those songs (aside from one or two of the songs) are probably some of the worst, most limp-wristed airy fairy Yes tunes ever.

Arriving UFO is a bad song. Circus Of Heaven is a lot more bearable but not terrible in my book.

Honestly White Car may as well be my favorite here, it's so pretty especially from when the vocals enter

Yeah, Fragile's a weird album for me. I love the long tracks, but the problem is that the short songs and interludes really don't seem to do much or go anywhere. Just kinda dull, so as much as I enjoy Fragile, it's still a bit of a mixed bag imo. To me, Close to the Edge is still the band's best by far

I said this before, but Machine Messiah might just be the first bona fide prog metal song ever
