two suns in the sunset is seriously one of the best album closers ever
I get why some people don't like Roger but also I understand why he was the way he was, and there was more behind the writing fiascoes than people usually acknowledge. anyways I love Roger.

it seems like most people who frequently post on sput prefer this to the wall lol
|

this really is shite though, i can't stand roger waters and his whiny self-absorbed histrionics
This album is really powerful if you can come to terms with the fact that it is an extremely personal album and therefore a self-absorbed one as most deeply personal albums are.

"there was more behind the writing fiascoes than people usually acknowledge"
so true. i've looked it up extensively myself, and i have to say, roger is really catty and witty and on point a lot of the time with his criticisms and complaints.
and yah the closer is amazingly good. i've met a lot of floyd fans in my life and maybe 1 or 2 of them knew about this album. such a shame

people give roger shit for always stealing the writing spotlight but more often than not when they got to the drawing board with new material, Roger had ideas and no one else did. I've heard at least Dave and Nick admit that they were lazy as far as writing goes.
didn't hear anything about that from Rick tho RIP

Would have worked better as a solo album then?

does it matter who the credited artist is?

It is when it is labelled as a Pink Floyd album yet only Waters really did something on it

but how is that at all relevant to the quality of the music

well, gilmour did some stuff and nick mason was there but yeh its more waters than anything else they did

the wall was almost as much of a roger waters album as this is
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
yeh but gilmour contributed a lot more on wall performance wise than on here, this better than wall anyway
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
It is cause I really feel that Gilmour and Mason just do the same that they did in The Wall but in a weaker way

@mr - so who is making the music is more important to your opinion on the music than the content of the music itself?

Maybe, but the gilmour solos on here are amazing. It isn't so much the actual songs though its the whole package and very much the lyrics.

No, but as I said this just sounds like a weaker Wall for me and I really think the reason is cause Waters did everything by himself

it just seems like a much more candid version of the wall to me
I get why people don't like Rogers' style as a musician as much as the others but personally I love it here
