It's a sweet concept album about sleep paralysis with a quite brilliant rhythm section and excellent production if you find the SACD. However it is a bit too homogeneous for its own good especially in the first half.

This was an amazing album. Bought it back when it was released but didn't like it very much back then. Only two years (or something) later I brought it in my car and listened to it during a long trip, I completely changed my mind and fell in love with it. Criminally underrated in my opinion.

The right environment can make a play through of this album a transcendental experience. Pariah is definitely the best introduction and cross-section of what this band does.

I really dislike the vocals on this. They sound so earnest yet fake. It sounds like someone created something like auto-tune, but instead it's auto-emotion. Sing into this and it'll make you sound like you care.
