Sorry, Andy, but no. Even msot music critics that hate Evanescence admit that Amy Lee is a terrific vocalist.

She's terrific, yes, but she's so much better than this.

...a 4?

I absolutely loved Fallen, but the Open Door was painfully boring, besides Call Me When Your Sober.

...ev·a·nesce /ˌɛvəˈnɛs, ˈɛvəˌnɛs/ –verb (used without object), -nesced, -nesc·ing. to disappear gradually; vanish; fade away.

Sums up their career pretty much.

i didn't like the call me when you are sober song. even though amy sounds great in it. one day though i was in FYE and lithium came on the tv and i was instantly sucked in. her voice was so beautiful in that. i think i am going to pick this up for christmas.

Well, the album isn't terrible. It's no Fallen, either, though.

Well i think that The Open Door is the best album of mainstream alternative rock of the 00's. Evanescence are doing a perfect job. For me, the album is a classic.

Well, I always loved Evanescence, and Fallen was my favorite album. But it can't be compared with The Open Door. The latest album shows that Evanescence's sound has grown a lot. And Terry Balsamo's guitar parts have taken the music to a whole new level.

My opinion, this is how an alternative rock/metal/whatever album should be.

You can tell just by her voice that she is hot.But musically this album is alright too.I prefer heavier stuff but there will always be some time for Evanescence, because the Song Bring me To Life was one of the songs that got me into heavier music, but now compared to some of the stuff I like its very soft.

Actually its just something a friend of mine said to me that I thought I would share...but seeing as you find it offensive then please accept my humblest apologies.Saying things like that, even though its not serious and then I follow it up with a serious opinion, must really make me no better than those "Evanescence are shit and they suck and I'm only giving them a 1 because they suck" trolls...This Message Edited On 10.21.08

I've enjoyed all of the bands albums to the same extent, but have yet to rate them so rectifying that now. I really think that while the "angst" mentioned is a valid point it is a rather strong word for this type of music/lyrical content/music.

Fallen was pretty boring I think. Just average, but there were those highlights just as Hello, Imaginary, or Whisper with a great atmosphere. I guess Amy won't ever reach the greatness of this peace again. Very impressive, creative, and dark. Nothing you listen to while sitting on the bus on way to school. I like listening to it alone at home at night. Much more Art than Fallen has been.

"Lithium," "Snow White Queen" and "Like You" were top notch. The rest was not.
