The Confusion/Signals combo is my favourite. Incredible album.

They’re mostly positive, just Princess Peach letting us down.

honestly unsure how i feel about this. like there are a lot of individual things i like about this but i don't think there's a single song here i truly dig. feel like some of the ideas are just thrown out on it and the actual execution was left kinda half way there

doesn't help that the vocalists aren't very good

feels like they just aren't good enough at anything to leave much of an impression. like a bunch of kids with a lot of ideas and a professional producer but still very rough musically

Hang on, you hadn't previously heard this (enough to rate it anyway) and you're underwhelmed? I'm perplexed, thought this would be right up your alley. Admittedly I first heard this a long time ago and nostalgia definitely plays some part, but the execution of the various styles here is nothing short of incredible. One of those albums that shouldn't work, yet it's immaculate.

Vocals are often make-or-break for a lot of people though, so I won't argue against that point. They've never struck me as anything particularly special.

i think i've heard some of it on a whim but as a whole yeah this was the first time i've heard it. in a way this reminds me of circle takes the square's as the roots undo, in that there's a lot of weird ideas compressed into one relatively short album. only that album is much more chaotic and raw and over the top but i can see same arguments being made for both albums

Interestingly (or perhaps not) my 'As the Roots Undo' rating matches yours for this one.

That was kind of my point, although I forgot to include actual words to make that clear, which was a rather silly oversight on my part.

As the Roots Undo is a 5 for sure. This one isn’t far off. Both albums absolutely slay.

Yeah I liked the idea of a used car salesman vibe trying to present my comments as passable. It's neet-o
