No doubt I enjoyed the guitar work and drums on this one. I think Leviathan was better overall (but not by much). I definitely think we haven't heard their best stuff yet. My only complaint about them is the vocals. They sound very drowned out and mostly forgettable. I'm not really pinning this on the lead singer, I think it's an editing problem. Then again, who the hell am I?

It is definitely a very good album but I do enjoy Leviathan more.

I grew to love this album. Leviathan never did much for me so I never understood what made this band so awesome. Blood Mountain changed that though.

This album's alright. I prefer Leviathan. Maybe that will change with repeated listens. I'm leaning towards iluvatar's side.

I used to think that Leviathan was better, but now I lean more towards this album. I just think this album was everything Leviathan did...but just bigger, better, and catchier.

I kind of get that vibe in the earlier half of Blood Mountain, I'm gonna devote more time to the latter half and see if that changes my mind.

The latter half isn't as easy to "get into", but after a while I really came to love songs like Hunters of the Sky and This Mortal Soil.

man if they only eliminated the three tracks after bladecatcher, then the album would be at least a 4.5 if not 5

Should I buy this album? I really like The Wolf Is Loose, but money is tight and I need to be assured I will love it before I buy it (I learnt that lesson after 10,000 Days).

well, if you like the wolf is loose, but you're also a fan of trippy instrumental parts (which im guessing you are, if you bought a tool album) i'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the whole album.
