Title track and closing 2 tracks are killer, have I got a bad copy or are the the interludes just really that loud compared to the normal songs?

The interludes don't sound any louder to me tbh.

the interludes are absolutely blown out compared to the rest. i have a waveform bar on my music player and the entire tracks are brickwalled and clipping.

luckily they didn’t do the same thing with the whole production job.

prelim this vs. sleep via a few elements from my view

drumming -> tie (both koryn and eldridge are fantastic)

guitars -> this (leads and solos are definitely better here, with plenty of memorable riffs on both)

vocals -> sleep (daryl sounded absolutely ferocious on sleep and frankly was the elevating factor in that one becoming a modern classic, he's a bit more subdued here)

production -> sleep (love the raw/punchy sound of the vocals and guitars on sleep, although the drumming production might be slightly better here)

songwriting -> sleep (slightly, songs like grave reaper, nex monumentum, and incineration of mortal flesh give it a small edge)

@Shadow: I think Guitar is a tie at best too. Leads are really amazing here, but the meat and potatoes, the riffs are a lot more gripping and mean on Sleep.

These guys are performing in shabby little venue in my city. Really it's kinda strange that foreign bands even come to play there. This will sound extra cavernous and murky with a barebones old school set up. Hell yeah!

loving the production, the riffs and Phil Tougas's solos are some real holy shit moments. some of the tracks really lose me and -for me at least- start to meander and lose the energy. particularly the last couple. also feel Sa Nagba Amaru kinda dips the energy after how bananas the title track before it is. title track and Barren Halls are def the ones im vibing with most here
