i am not really a DImmu or Symphonic guy but I enjoyed this a fair bit. taking as one its pretty exhausting and suffers from every track trying to be grand epic, but there's def a few bangers on here like the singles and Repository Of Grand Transmutation

Man I just re-listened to about half of abrahadabra. Shit sounds like dimmu borgir writing a beast in black album. Can't stand that shit lol. It's annoying though because it's like each song has one part where they decided to pick up their guitars and write something somewhat interesting
I hate when I listen to a band though and my first thought is that 90% of it live would be backing tracks

Eakflanderyof you asked what melodies are ripped off. let's take track 2: Ascent
riff that starts at 1:17 - first found in OMC - Twilight Damnation starting at 2:11 - only the ending changed slightly
track 6: repository of divine transmutation
riff that starts at 6:04 - also reminds me of one riff from an OMC song, not sure which one though
granted, both could simply be cases of Galder self-plagiarazing, which he's lowkey been known to do, but I'm not sure how much songwriting involvement he had on this album
I recall there's one or two more but couldn't be assed to listen to the whole thing again right now haha
but yes, definitely a pleasant dimmu album. I disagree on abrahadabra being so bad though, I disliked in sorte diaboli quite a bit more

Wanted to compare this to Stormblast 2005 today and this came out on top

Yeah, Stormblast 2005 rules, but this is definitely better.

I love both versions of stormblast. I'd have to have both over this. The old school version is one of my all time favorite bm records though and my personal favorite dimmu

did the original get pulled from streaming? is it the copyright issue?
96 def has the atmosphere advantage but it was on the shortlist of albums whose production was so inconsistent that a remake would be welcome, and 2005 turned out pretty well.

The original is a hard 5 agreed Eak.

@Xfing Galder doesn't have any songwriting credits on this album (according to Wikipedia at least)
all material written by Silenoz and Shagrath
