Completely disagree this is mallcore and is hot topic music for teenagers just getting into heavy music. I’ve been listening to metal for 37 years and enjoy it. No salt in the wound for a band trying a new direction, get over it.

pb lol

It doesn't matter if you do like it. He's probably still correct on that assessment. It's quite likely that you straight up not the primary audience for this lol.

Any old man can like MCR (because it sounds like Queen a little bit), but that doesn't mean MCR isn't mallcore for edgy teenagers.

Such strong condemnations from people who listened to this once, if at all

Yeah even while im not super on board for the album, this is getting a bit blown out of proportion. At worst this is a bit dull. The closer, LBRNTH are the only tracks that are horrid imo but outside of that the albums fine

Music is "for" the people that like that music. The seriousness with which people are reaching to hate on this is interesting. It's okay to just not like it. It doesn't have to be "insincere sellout material for edgy mallcore teens" or whatever. A lot of this reads like angry boomer speak.

I'd probably go with Cyclone tbh.

Yeah this is still solid but I’ll concede that it’s definitely their worst album, but I’m a lil slut for metalcore with some black metal flourishes. Not a lot of bands do it.

Production is a little too clean and I def wish the vocals had more bite, but yeah I think “solid” pretty much sums it up. I mean some of you guys are acting like this is Wage War or Underoath or some shit lol

They've always been a Modern Metalcore band pretending to be Black Metal and that's why I like them. This album is no different (it's just more obvious) and has some absolute bangers on it. If you didn't get what they were going for when it was more subtle that's on you.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think the more pristine production and the cleaner vocals are biggest turn offs for people

Nomad and Cycline are the most cheddar cuts

Yeah less clean production would elevate this for sure. Add some extra delay and reverb on the vocals, reduce the low end, and everybody would be loving this cause it sounds so 'raw'.

I am not a fan of their older music, but I love Loss. Favorite tracks are Submerged, Uncontrolled, and Stardust.

I’m still fucking enjoying the fuck out of this. I love it when a band says fuck it we are going to throw a fucking curveball.
