Converge was absolutely phenomenal! One of the best live bands I've ever seen! Poison the Well was pretty good too but Jeffery's clean vocals were fried and could barely hear him during many clean sections and his harsh vocals just aren't what they used to be. Granted, they still were pretty great live but Jeffery's just certainly not the same but his harshs were fine, cleans were just not there at all lol. Crowd carried the clean sections haha

Yea Jeff is past his prime but he can still hold down the set and they're a fun time to see. I thought he held his own better on the Opposite tour last year than when they reunited in Miami in 2016. Funny enough, I saw Converge live for the first time last year and thought they blew Dillinger (Calculating lineup) out of the water by comparison. They're just unreal in a live setting

Jeff's vocals were clearly just fried during touring too. His harsh vocals were coming through ok time and time again during the set but his cleans were barely heard at all. Reminds me when I saw Static Dress with Olli and his vocals were shot too. Sucks but at least Poison still threw down hard but man, Converge was just unbelievable. For some reason too the mixing for Converge was 1000x better.

makes a lot of sense with what was put on record. all of his cleans on the new ptw are soaked in effects and reverb. i was wondering why they went that route. sad because he used to be a real powerhouse.

To be fair, Jacob's vocals are usually shot too when he does Converge clean singing parts live. Just watch any random performance of Eve or The Dusk in Us (the song).

Caught these fellas on the 12th and yeah, they put on a hell of a show. For sure outperformed Poison the Well (they also lost ~20 minutes to sound issues so..)



Personally love that there's no frill to their set. No "I wanna see a circle pit"; no "split this mofo down the middle"; no "I wanna see you m0o0ve". The crowd was theirs for 45 minutes.
