Not an easy choice for me. Iced Earth - Travel In Stygian, Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond, Gamma Ray - Rebellion in Dreamland, Manowar - Blood of my Enemies are a few tracks that come to my mind as contenders for the best power metal song. Halloween is definitely up there though.

I think in terms of overall quality of discog, Blind Guardian is an easy winner for me. There are a couple of albums of theirs that I don't enjoy a great deal but a case can be made that they have never released a poor album.

Cheese and even more cheese. How this band managed to increase the amount of cheesiness from release to release is beyond me. Musically it's alright, nothing very impressive but still pretty good. But the vocals are atrocious and i'm not even going to talk about the themes and lyrics. It would all be alright if the overall musical appeal was enough to make you forget about all this (i mean, metal isn't really the genre with the best lyrics as a whole, even with a few exceptions) but sadly, it's so cheesy and overdone that you'll want to fry your speakers to stop the madness.
A small sample of what i mean about the cheesiness: Halloween's guitar solo at around 6' in. Starts really good...and you end up with that mess when the 2 guitars play at the same time. Was this necessary ? What's the point ? Ruining the song ? Mission accomplished xD
It doesn't shine on me. lol
