Lol I forgot all about that. Bitch made shit. I was really surprised cuz I stage dived their entire set in like 2011/2012. The singer of O Brother got security to kick me out of a show for crowd surfing when I was drunk and now I have a personal vendetta against that band

Second time I saw turnstile was in 2014 and even back then fans would bum rush the stage to sing keep it moving with Brendan’s mic. Eventually they all turned around and started jumping off stage, one jerk did a front flip and landed his foot right in top of my head. I bent down to find my hat he knocked off and out of nowhere someone else came out of the pit and smashed their knee right into the side of my head. I got laid out that night.

s/t, never hung over again, and their last one are pretty sweet imo. They did lose me for a bit but Gotta Let It Go was a nice return to form.

I was knocked out from a punch at a basement hardcore show once (think it was Harm's Way before they blew up?) and as such I don't care if people are whack about policing moshing lol

I’ve seen enough teenage girls get punched in the face by crowd killers that I could honestly go to hardcore shows without getting in the pit once and I’d be fine. Regular punk and metal concerts always had more fun pits and dancing imo

I wasn't even in the pit! I was standing off to the side and some asshole just swung with a full force punch at my head

I guess my perspective is skewed from attending a lot of great DIY hardcore shows where I only saw disrespectful peeps from out of town. Usually there was great mosh etiquette. Even when fights would go down they would be handled quickly. And this is from someone who's taken a spin kick to the face twice
