In the beginning was the idea, and the idea was God. Or a god, at least. Sleep Token’s rich mythology has provided a fertile breeding ground for fascination and speculation as fans engage with the lore of Sleep and offer their own interpretations and understandings to turn each new release into a metal choose-your-own-adventure.

Speaking of Converge, they just released a split with Coalesce from a performance of theirs from 1996. Pretty cool stuff.

code for this band are so devoid of substance it's up to the listener to use their imagination (or just make shit up!) in order to enhance the experience lol

It’s somehow worse than the last one.
No ifs ands or buts that warrants an immediate 1 and we should collectively pretend this album doesn’t exist. Shitting on this band is no longer fun because this is just a nothing of an album. Despite being complete dogshit, Eden at least seemed like it had some passion behind it. This “record” is what you get when you ask Grok to make a Sleep Token album with less djunts

Vessel has a triple pronged approach to being the most annoying band in music today.
1. Making absolute dogshit for people who want to be alt
2. Taking himself far too seriously, unless the bit went right over my head
3. Making albums that should not even fucking think of crossing the 1 hour mark… and then doing it anyways This one thankfully, mercifully, is like 10 mins shorter than Eden, but Vessel compensates for that by making it feel longer with it being so fucking boring.
This band really went from being sorta kinda decent with the first EPs, to something fun to shit on, to legit probably my most hated modern metal adjacent act. I would rather listen to Falling in Reverse than this.

Brilliant strategy mister vessel, can’t wait to not check out what you do next. I don’t think my morbid curiosity will get the better of me next time around

Fans of this band don't use this site unfortunately. They're people who are outside 99% of the time, have jobs, have families to feed, have real life friends, etc.

Idk man you’re a prime example of that not being the case

the magnitude and breadth of fantasy fandom i.e. "lore" this band is subject to and the cultist-like behaviour at their gigs, definitely speaks to the sort of real world, outside 'family person' (whatever that means), who would attach themselves to ST's art

nah there's definitely a defensive fandom and they're really weird about it
