This album feels like the definitive DS, I knew they were cooking something special even before it released.
What I love about this band so much is that the attention to detail and excellent musicianship isn't a flex, it's a celebration of BDM and its legitimacy as an artform. There's way more of a classical influence in this than any bullshit Fleshgod Apocalypse is putting out.

I brought them up for contrast because they pile tons of orchestra plugins and opera singing to make their music sound dynamic and sophisticated while DS can do the same thing with the same core ingredients as Butchered at Birth.

If you count Pyrrhon (I don’t) then it’s x2.5-ish.

Can't get enough of this album man... Lille is the definitive metal drummer. There is just no one who has his level of creativity and sheer out of the box thinking in the game coupled with that brilliant technical skills. Mindblowing LP on all fronts
