Comatose was a good soundtrack for halo 3 but I couldn't ever bring myself to rate a Christian arena rock album higher than 1 , let alone this sheep shit
What's the cover art supposed to be him larping storming the capitol?
There's no human being more pathetic and embarrassing than a trump cum guzzling jesus freak, it's hypocrisy and derangement on multiple levels
And yet the more the world scorns them the more it feeds into their martyr complex so you can't win
I'm just thankful I live in a country where I rarely run into these flogs
Also for all his denigrating of drag queens he wears more makeup than kamala, a wig, a girlde and platform shoes and he's probably got bigger tits than most of them
Anyway

I won't apologize when I speak my mind
I'm just bein' me, so lay off
If thinkin' for myself is called raisin' Hell
I guess that I'm an outlaw, whoo

"Some families may not be crazy about the lyrics “If thinking for myself’s called raising h—/I guess that I’m an outlaw.”
The lone mild profanity mentioned above is the only issue here that some could potentially take issue with. Apart from that, Revolution keeps Skillet’s hard-rocking freight train hustling down the tracks, encouraging the broken, bungled and battered to hang on to hope and never to be ashamed of their faith—no matter what the world may say."

The fact that a self proclaimed Christian is trying to posture as some free thinking maverick is crazy, free thought is suppressed at every level by their faith and they're even referred to in unambiguous terms as a flock of sheep lmfao

Ephemeral, the assertion of Christianity is that all humans are sheep.
Some choose to follow a good shepherd, giving them a basis of morality, so they may branch out to make decisions accordingly.
Some are neurotic fuckwits who stand for absolutely nothing, accept any and all lies fed to them, have no consistency or coherence to their beliefs or the lives they lead, and lose all personal agency due to this confusion before subsequently getting drawn and quartered by wolves - pulled in every direction, going nowhere except the grave.
Check yourself and lay off the social media for a few weeks you manic fool. Chances are none of the people you think are your enemies harbor any ill will toward you. You have lapped up every drop of drama algorithmically peddled to you and claim freedom in this. Address the real problems in your life instead of drafting yourself into meaningless tribalism 24/7.
Fucking hell.

Yeah, Skillet haven't been decent for years. They've always been a guilty pleasure for me, and I actually got really happy hearing Circus for a Psycho at Nightmare Fuel last night at HHN, but I really can't defend their newer stuff.
I'll stick to Whispers in the Dark, Awake and Alive, and Feel Invincible, and just pretend that nothing past Unleashed exists

Yes being a Christian is the majority opinion in the us. He’s not being rebellious by believing that and he’s not being persecuted

"but the true downfall of Revolution is John Cooper"
And that's exactly it. The dude has seriously gone off the fucking deep end over the last 4-5 years, mostly from driving the same "anti-woke" narrative that's been incessantly driven into the ground for several years now. Such a shame too, because I still enjoy Collide and Comatose quite a bit, and believe that they offer some intelligent lyrical takes on old Christian rock/metal tropes
"No doubt this will be eaten up by the usual "keep politics out of my music" crowd."
True, and that phrase always makes me laugh, because you know that's not what they're actually saying. What they're actually saying is "keep YOUR politics out of MY music". Entitlement and hypocrisy at their finest

@FrozenFirebug
I'm not entirely convinced this wasn't a satirical response but in case it wasn't and since I'm in that sort of mood... what are you even talking about?
The old testament in particular quite explicitly sanctions genocide, murder, slavery, homophobia, misogyny, child genital mutilation, intolerance, sadomasochism ... I mean apostates and atheists are to be put to death, and that's not the will of some crazed zealots , it's right there in the good book.
Jesus wasn't a good shepherd, there's scant evidence such a figure even existed (no accounts from the century after he supposedly died before a bunch of gospels offering conflicting accounts of his life) but assuming one did, he was almost certainly a wandering apocalyptic cult leader who implored his followers to abandon their families and follow him and was a warmonger and affirmed slavery. Besides, shepherds don't heard sheep because they love them.
I would even go so far as to say that there are no good Christians - someone can be good precisely to the extent to which they stray from the dogma. All these progressive minded theists we applaud for being inclusive and tolerant are actually failing to do what's commanded by their god. Or they do it for self-gain. So there are moral people who call themselves christians, jews, muslims etc but it's purely nominal. And as an atheist they would be my enemies if they actually did what was asked of them in their bible.
I know religion has served many purposes and they weren't all for the worse, but to use the bible as a guidebook for morality in the 21st century is just whack.
You're right that I should spend less time online as we all probably should but I'm not sure what that's got to do with anything we're discussing
