"I Am Dog Now" is so good, along with every other song on this record

also if you haven't heard crippling alcoholism check them out, this year's album is an easy top 5 pick for me. like a more synthy and (somehow) more depressing chat pile

if State Faults weren't so head and shoulders above everything else that's dropped this year, Masc would be a SOTY contender for me

I see the merit in Crippling Alcoholism's new record but it is a very different beast than Chat Pile. CA's new album was like a mixture of Tom Waits (if he was a murderer) and Type 0 Negative.

haven't heard the latest CA yet, but the first album sounded more like Daughters mixed with Joy Division to me. Either way, hella fucking good and very different to Chat Pile agreed.

was moreso on about the overall vibes/uneasiness/lyrical content
for a band that actually sounds like cp, intercourse has been scratching that itch for me. elements of jesus lizard too

crippling alcoholism "with love from a padded room" is def one of the best records from this year no question

Reading through the lyrics I have a sneaking suspicion that “Tape” might actually be about that “gutter” subject, specifically the case of Josh Duggar

Another really good showing from these guys. Not as heavy as God's Country, but definitely bleaker/creepier which is refreshing. This will definitely grow on me with more listens but God's Country reigns supreme imo. Shame, Funny Man, Camcorder, Tape, and Masc are my favorites.

If God's Country was a blistering summer day, this is a damp/gloomy cold fall morning.
