This is their most wildly accessible album, which is why I think it’s getting universal praise

Yeah it doesn’t make it bad by any means, I hope they get huge because of it because they rule, but it doesn’t scratch the same itch as r/d for me. Still spinning it regularly though, could see it being a 4 in time. Heat death goes in so hard

"Big fuck up on their part."

As far as I know Michael has not been touring with the band, and they can't pull off Divination with only 1 guitar

I’LL HOLD YOU IF YOU HOLD ME

The staying power this album has never fails to impress me. Cant remember the last time ive been this addicted to an album as a whole and not just stand alone songs from it. I think that is why this easily was my aoty. I did get why some people would argue Foxing to be the aoty but that album has too many songs i find myself skipping or not listening to at all and songs from it just ended up on my playlists instead of me listening to the whole thing over and over. it had its standout tracks tho

yeah, this clears Foxing with ease. The top % of that album is rightly lauded over but this "%" is comparatively small

this is closer to being a cohesive whole, it certainly flows decently once it gets going

the number of go-to tracks on this album (most of them) is about equal to the number of straight skips on the foxing s/t so uh yeah go figure

also some of the foxing cleans make these guys sound like jeff buckley, yeesh

So many lines, melodies and passages from this album that just sticks with me. Just an immediate classic for me. I will probably rant about this album to my kids and grandkids heheh
