have come to the realisation that No Gospel is only (+inarguably) #1 if you listen to this as a whole. Divination/Palm Reader/Leviathan are the playlist highlights and probs my top 3 at this point

fwiw the bulk of this album sounds much better in sequence - Distant Omen, Nazar and Wind Song esp rly lean on how the pacing picks up from or leans into them, and I haven't got nearly as much out of jamming them in isolation

not that this makes me like them any less, but that top tier is the absolute business whatever context you throw it against

that tracks, very few 10-minute songs are highlights without the context of the album



That said the album is so good front to back that I rarely want to listen to any particular song (and when I do it's Palo Santo for some reason), I just want to listen to the whole thing.

Ngl I was in love with Bodega head and i still am. I am trying this again in its enitrety and its still as damn good as the first time.
