I think it might be impossible not to "get" this one. Most in-your-face, no-nonsense, straight up brawl of an album I've heard in years.

Sounds like it might be up my alley. I always start their albums really digging them but they wind up losing me about 2/3 of the way through.
I want to like these guys, they sound amazing on paper (and a lot of the time on record too) but something just hasn't fully clicked for me yet. Anyway putting this on now

To be fair, Thou clicked with me immediately. Can see how they might be a grower band for some but loved them immediately starting with Magus onwards.

Listened to this a few times this weekend and I’m so impressed overall. I skipped the singles as they came out and initially put this in in the car but wasn’t feeling it s I waited until I knew I could hear it all with more attention which was the right call. What an absolute gem to add in with their other LP’s. Really wish I’d pulled the trigger on the preorder lol.

The overall flow and structure of each song and the album as a whole is basically perfect. Vocals are amazing too.



Yeah, dis my AOTY to beat now. Alcest will probably win ultimately cause I'm a total fanboy and they have my favorite sound in all of metal but Ulcerate has their work cut out for them to top this.
