There are plenty of fan boys of this band on this site. But perhaps are overshadowed in ratings by the masses. We are very present in the comment section though lol

On this album, perhaps, but I think it’s cause of everything that came before, and the time in which they released this

i get it in that they have a lot of divisive elements in their sound and they doubled down on a lot of them and new ones to change things up here so its an album that particularly isnt for everyone from a band who already isnt gonna be everyones thing

but me personally feed me more

If they do more of this it’s gonna have to be like this + Drift blend. Needs to be a little more “interesting” musically. This felt a bit dumbed down and less noodly. Which is certainly fine, but it’s not an itch I needed scratched from this band

this is way better off for being less noodly imo. drift is great but it feels like a dumbed down version of stuff they already did, where this justifies being leaner in being a new direction outright. like luminesce for example might be more "technical" but it feels stuck in the box of "what erra is supposed to sound like", making it a redundant song after its first minute ish (evident in them basically rewriting that song in the much better divisionary) their songwriting skills just werent really there on that one the way they are here

but also i am mr "give me new itches to scratch" music fan. the effects of such immense achtung baby exposure at a young age, and i doubt theyll make this again given their current trajectory. next onell prob be something completely different again

i would be down for drift's tunings to come back at least for sure. drop a flat erra hits a very sweet spot for me, just love how jesse's voice sounds in that key, and its really their only prior hallmark that i miss here

The ironic thing is every time you have a bad take, it just has “outlier” right there framing it
