The ‘Snails’ EP hinted at The Format progressing their catchy indie-leaning pop-rock, but not to the level of theatrical ambition evident on 2nd LP ‘Dog Problems’. Using a smorgasbord of instruments and taking a little from the likes of Queen, The Beatles & The Beach Boys, the band create another charming album filled with terrific, grandiose song-writing & witty, heartfelt lyrics. While not especially immediate & containing 3 or 4 filler tracks, ‘Dog Problems’ remains a creative, feel-good & excellent release. Recommended Tracks: Inches and Falling, Time Bomb, Snails & Dog Problems.

Holy SHAZ I love this. I could find out by reading reviews of both albums, but instead I'll just ask: Was this like a crazy change for The Format, or is I&L similar to this in style?

I wouldn't say it was a "crazy change:, but it was definitely a change. As per my above comment, they basically added a much more theatrical element here. The debut LP is more basic in structure... but it's almost as catchy, so definitely take the time to give it a listen.

I see, thanks! So I'm curious, what 3 or 4 tracks do you consider to be filler? I find every single song to be perfectly catchy
