3.5 feels like it’s in the right sort of range thus far. Heard this three times through, so starting to picture where it will settle.
Good comeback, has some classic Sigur prettiness and a touch of wonder, but not to the extent of their better works. Isn’t overly bold or as immediately striking as Kveikur, but expecting another reinvention may have been unfair.

Honestly this is better than I was anticipating.
It's nice when recognizing it as it is; A new release over a decade after the band's peak, & though it's not at all re-inventive or mind-blowing, I also don't think they threw the towel in on this one.

This is exactly what I wanted from Sigur Ros in 2023. The early albums are phenomenal, but sometimes the grandiosity can be tiring. And Kveikur had already satisfied my heavier Sigur Ros urges. I wanted something beautiful and dreamy I could float away to at night. And I got it. Couldn't be happier with ÁTTA to be honest.
