“post-metalcore is actually my term btw i was using it in 2013 to describe albums like sempiternal that were phc/mc hybrids”
I’m pretty sure i said it back in 2009, while thinking out loud, and you subconsciously pulled it from the aether

I didn't word that well. I meant that I personally think Daoboys do this flavor of chaos better and their ceiling is higher but this band is interesting. Never heard of them prior to the last week so I'll peep their first album too.

This started strong and dwindled. Some good stuff here though

Let's start a progressive post-bree band guys, that'd be fun

Feel like this band is trying too much to be like Rolo Tomassi with these cleans and they're genuinely not good at all with it.

Yeah it’s much better when they go ham

this doesn't hold a candle to mirrors, intro to wounds upon my skin alone goes harder than anything here

So someone said this is the worst band name ever. I wouldn't go that far since there are way worse out there. (like Pissing Razors for example) As for the band it's meh I'm kind of bored with a lot of the modern metalcore sound. Feel's like I've heard so many bands like them, so after hearing two tracks I'll just skip it. I was already bored hearing the screaming vocals and riffs. The softer signing in Momentary Actuality isn't bad though.

This did not too much for me. Boring riffs throughout.

“… As for the band it's meh I'm kind of bored with a lot of the modern metalcore sound.”
Sounds like someone is beginning to awaken from their r/metalcore, unwillingly-induced slumber.

Definitely some good stuff here and I actually love the clean vocals but overall it doesn't do a lot to really make me stick around. I still think the title track is the best on the album.

While I'd love to lay claim to inventing the entire word of post-metalcore, it IS something that has existed for a while. Architects iirc had a t-shirt line at one point where they advertised themselves as post-metalcore--trouble being that absolutely nothing they were doing was particularly progressive whatsoever. A lot of the negative perception of post-metalcore that's seen on places like r/metalcore is because of its early association with Architects, Bring Me the Horizon, etc., aka popular groups that used the term as a marketing gimmick.
I'd like to say that I've RE-invented the word to encompass a movement that, while it may not exist, has a lot more evidence in favor of it existing compared to how it was previously used.

Definitely feels like a transition album, but it's still really good and I'm revisiting it quite a bit.
