it's crazy i even say that, because 20 years ago i couldn't stand the band haha. this record not only broke the barrier but listening to this so much actually helped me overcome shadow's voice to where i don't mind their earlier stuff now.

ehhh, it’s Nearer My God but messier, more aggressive, and far more pessimistic. A lot of screamo influence on more than a few tracks. Personally I like it more than Nearer My God but I love both records.

Been spinning this alot lately. It's still such a great album. Better than The Stage. TS is a little bloated in comparison and listening to them back to back really enforces that. Just my person opinion, you gotta change the track listing to really appreciate this album.

Really hoping they’re still wanting to play tracks off this despite some fans bitching. Idk an SOAD co headliner would be the perfect time to play it safe and play the hits. I have absolutely no reason to think that other than it probably being the biggest non festival crowd they’re ever gonna play for, and Hail to the King is still far and away their most popular album/song

Jesus not a single track off this (or The Stage, for that matter) has cracked their top 10 on Spotify. Makes me sad. They clearly put a lot of heart into this one but people would still rather have the arena rock record.

no, sounding the seventh trumpet exists. But yes Waking the Fallen is a metalcore classic and anyone that disagrees can eat my pale ass

I mean shit it’s sick now. Turn the Other Way is a fuckin jam and I really dig We Come Out at Night. The Rev was also just absolutely fucking batshit insane too.

There’s some big misses on it tho, most of Matt’s cleans are pretty bad… so Streets and especially Warmness on the Soul miss the mark big time
