Listening now...first two songs were pretty plain but not bad. Hearing Voices is off to a better start so far.

Singles sounded like Foo Fighters doing Foo Fighters, and I'm quite happy with that! Can't wait to listen to this!

I read somewhere that this album feels like the continuation of wasting light, while being the exact negative of it. And it feels kinda right
|

hope I get to this soon, ya'll are definitely hyping me up

Realise it's early days but that average rating has me intrigued - will listen later for sure

Legit the most I liked a Foo album since Wasting Light, last two songs are emotional bangers and the rest is comfy, hard rock the way they do it, but better in execution than the last 3 records.

Need to give this a listen, haven't really enjoyed a Foo Fighters record since Wasting Light but seeing even moderately positive reception here has me interested.

the last two songs are unquestionably two of the best they've ever done, every other track besides the duet with dave's wife is your standard foo fighters affair though
also feel like the production is rather weak here by their standards. drums in particular sound kinda washed out to me

album rulezz
"show me how" is undoubtedly the coolest thing they've put out since easily 10 years, love that they wrote essentially an Airiel song
agreed that the production could be higher-fi, I assumed it was just Spotify being Spotify but apparently not?

"love that they wrote essentially an Airiel song"
ok you're getting me excited

Jesus, this one made me a bit emotional. IDK if it's sleep deprivation getting to me or if the writing's just that good, but this is the best thing the Foos have put out in years. The Teacher and The Glass currently are at the top for me
|
| |
"The Glass" is if "See You Again" from Wiz Khalifa was written by Oasis.

These guys show a notorious instinct of writing decent songs at the very wrong tempo. Half of these tracks need to be sped up and then we got some spice.

Hearing Voices and The Glass were excellent, on 'Nothing At All' now.

OK this keep getting better. I definitely feel like the album is a bit backloaded because I was unsure about this in the beginning.

The back section of the album's easily the highlight. Some of the Foos best work imo, at least as far as the 2010s-2020s

Wasn't that impressed on first listen, last two tracks rule though

I agree with the consensus here. It's not quite on the same level as the band's very best, in part because is starts out a little too comfortable, but then it launches into a very strong back half. The last two songs are iconic Foo.
|
| |
yeah the last four tracks on here are something else, one of their best runs ever
the dream pop kinda feeling on Show Me How and then that Siamese Dreamy guitar on Beyond Me come outta nowhere and it's so good
|
| |
holy fuck the production is terrible why did no one tell me?
so insanely compressed the cymbals sound like fizzy white noise
