I just can't buy into the hype when this does so little to deviate from such a painfully dated formula. Yeah, it's good for what it is, but this horse was beaten to a pulp years ago. It verges on self-parody.

people looking to metalcore for originality will never not be funny. This is the formula folks, take it or leave it. Once in a while someone will break the mold, but don't get your hopes up

Tbh tho i dont really hear many other bands that write riffs quite like this. So it confuses me when people say how generic this is. It certainly has generic qualities but I'd like to hear the other bands that write riffs in the IA style that I am clearly missing here
I'd like to here those Keaton Goldwire copiers plz

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a genre's very best and most celebrated artists to take a few creative risks every now and then. This album could have been released by any above-average metalcore band from the last decade. I don't need them to reinvent the genre, but I would like to hear some new ideas or influences. Just a crumb of innovation is all I ask for.

lemme just say the Deftonescore trend is actually sick, I like the Vein.fm side project that has a Deftonesy feel, Loathe's last one ripped, and Thornhill's inflections are dope too. Heavy atmospheric stuff with good emotive vocals is a plus for me
