I can think of two alternatives to what they are doing that would have been a better solution to the grogu problem… the first would have had involved ahshoka actually taking him on as an apprentice instead of shoe horning deep fake Luke in so that grogu could naturally move on to her show and Mandolorian could naturally progress instead of treading water for the sake of fan service. The second option being grogu still returns to mando but they actually make it a plot point instead of it just being “grogu is just kind of there because that’s what the fans wanted”… so he’s not going to become a Jedi, then how about Mando trains him to become a bounty hunter? Imagine how badass it would be if Grogu got like a little sci fi bounty hunter outfit with like a cool vegeta lookin eye visor and he’s just floating around in his crib still and they are bustin in doin bounties together…. Mando just accepts that they are both misfits now and does not do the lame zealot quest that no one cares about. Why are we working backwards instead? it’s like the show is trying to go back to where it started instead.

and yeah I agree that they should have either just committed to the Jedi storyline, or made him a full on bounty hunter instead of this weird wishy washy "let's spend 2 seasons getting him to a Jedi and then undo it in 5 minutes" bullshit. Ahsoka training him would have been cool and removed the need for the eyesore deepfake Luke, that said it seems like the Ahsoka show is gonna be preoccupied with following up the Rebels cliffhanger (which I am very excited for) and there's not much place for Grogu to fit into that storyline



the option I think is best is just make Mando a tight 3-season story that's not gonna drag on forever and ever artificially constructing scenarios to keep them together. just have Din change his mind in the s2 finale and not let Grogu go, remove the whole Boba Fett/bringing back Taika-bot bullshit completely, and have Din and Grogu doing cool bounty hunter shit in s3 while they find their way to Mandalore. end of the show would be Din having Learned Some Shit and grown tf up letting Grogu go to train with Ahsoka/Ezra, assuming he comes back from the fuckin Shadow Realm lmao



and Bo-Katan was an infinitely better character animated, even while keeping the same casting they've somehow managed to make her so boring and flat in live action, it's almost impressive
