I think The Rapids is a highlight as big as Pale Morning Star, it just has the misfortune of being the last track. Actually I believe it's a top 3 song for them. Really wish they'd expand that sound on future records. That being said, I like the Lilian-esque stuff, despite it being more or less a singalong, they do that type of thing kind of effortlessly.
Idk this album is kind of growing on me.
Also, Godforsaken goes pretty damn hard. Never been a fan of dramatic female vocals, but these fit nicely here and are used sparingly which adds to them being tasteful and not overbearing
