Need to listen to this whole thing but I am obsessed with 2022, what a song

I listened to the whole thing and it's still my favorite haha oops
I love all the little instrumental lulls with the half time drums in it and Anthony sounds incredible

Yeah that chorus might be the hookiest moment on the whole album. Lots of good stuff here and Anthony sounds fantastic. The songwritings just a bit staid. If they keep this thing going, hopefully they come back with some fresh ideas and not leftovers from their old projects

Actually I take it bad this is bad

Finally took the time to listen to this and holy shit, second half of the year is packed with incredible releases.
This is super solid, I can hear some Thursday here and here and it go so well with Antoine Vert's vocal. Dude is on fire on every chorus. Speaking of choruses, t/t is maybe the best one of the year.
Also am I the only one hearing old school Iron Maiden riffs on Blender?

I just don’t like his vocals anymore

His singing isn’t what it used to be but I can of course accept that. But his harsh vocals just sound like screeching to me now
|
| |
I think the issue is he’s screeching over these boring ass alt rock “”post hardcore”” instrumentals that don’t really warrant jt. Tbh sounds like he is compensating
|
| |
I think his voice would hit different if the instrumentation was harder

His compensating is what saves this. Honestly, I love how he's pushing his voice. It's what makes the bland tracks interesting. Some people seem to think differently, but most of this sounds like b-sides from the bands they come from to me
|
| |
I don't think this is a release that pushes boundaries or anything, but it's refreshing to hear these old vets give it their all with a sound that really isn't in vogue anymore and doesn't really have any challengers to their thrones. I'd be curious to see how younger fans receive this record, but as someone who went through high school when all these guys were at the peak of their popularity, this is an immensely satisfying listen and extremely fan-servicey
|
| |
It’s not in vogue anymore cause I’ve heard this a million times before it feels like lol

I'll take that. The structures may be a little bit different, but Travis is doing quarter note noodling throughout this entire album in the exact same manner he did throughout all of coheed

All I really hear in this is Frank's solo stuff and Anthony's style on the last Saosin record but without the amazing hooks that had

I don't have problems with either of those songs lol. There are a lot of great moments here! Didn't get to spin over the weekend like I wanted... but at least I can do it now while I'm "working" lol

New TSOAF song is great as well. Anthony is on fire this year.

I dig this, funny cause it is energetic but also somehow a pretty chill listen overall. Very digestible and easy to listen to.

man Anthony just keeps sounding better with age. Love his performance on this album but sadly the instrumentals are lacking a bit for me. Might go up to a 3.5 after a few more listens. Title track is probs my favourite at the moment.
